This would be such a win-win that I don’t know if was Caleb, the Bears, or the Commanders that leaked it out. DC would love to trade up and take the hometown player, Poles would love to stick with his guy Fields and add a ton of high draft picks to play with over the next two years.

You said there is no way that Cooper Dejean is faster than Sauce Gardner. My comparison shows you are wrong and it is very possible.
-
I don’t know what Dejean is going to run. Nobody does yet. We don’t even know his real height and weight. Colleges lie all the time to make their guys look better. Something called nfldraftbuzz.com pulled a 4.50 prediction that appears to have no substantiation. I see him closer to 4.4 than I do 4.5.
-
There’s absolutely a way. As High Schoolers, Dejean was the Iowa state 100m champ with a time of 11.16. Sauce ran 11.50 as his PR at Detroit King.
-
I’d expect Dejean to run between 4.35 - 4.41 at full health. The injury may have an impact on his combine training though.

I didnt see that one coming. Guess I’m Scuderia too.

We have a very small picture of what the first round will look like. It’s just too early. That doesn’t mean to not spend time on draft stuff right now but use a pencil and be open minded. Many of the thoughts and projections on players will probably change as more data becomes available.
-
Nobody has done a thing. No workouts, no measurements, no interviews, no medicals, no combine testing. All we’ve got is college tape and whatever physical measurements their school puts out regardless of reality. That’s a tiny picture when putting together the entire grade. The draft would be really easy if we could just watch college games and that would tell us who will be the best pros.

There’s no such thing as a mock draft on January 31st. They are just click bait for draft freaks that need to feed their jones early.

It sucks we’re not starting this thread 2 weeks from now.

If you are looking at a head coaching job, the most important thing isn’t the franchise, owner, or GM. It’s the QB. If you don’t have one, you most likely wont be successful regardless of what you try and will be gone in under 3 years. Washington and Seattle are planning on new QBs next year and most likely both rookies. That’s a big risk. It’s possible to luck into a CJ Stroud but Ben also almost walked into a situation last year where his job would’ve depended on Bryce Young. That has to be in the back of his mind especially for an offensive coach. If he was offered the Chargers job, I’ve got to assume the choice would be different and the Lions are looking for a new OC. I give him a ton of credit for passing up the money and title and staying with his best opportunity to succeed.

Two days later and it’s still hard to take that L. It was right there for them and they couldn’t close the deal. Still, this is the most successful Lions season in almost 70 years. There’s no reason to whine, blame, or complain. This experience will make them a better team going forward. IMHO, the only thing dumber than blaming Goff is putting Hendon Hooker on a pedestal and insinuating that he’s better. That’s ****ing stupid. Hooker is nothing more than a 3rd round flyer draft pick. There is no part of the Lions future that is impacted in any way by him. He is probably more likely to be cut in 2 years than he is to be a starter. Calling for him to take Goff’s job at this point without so much as taking a single snap is troll level lunacy.

Lance Leipold has a much stronger head coaching pedigree than Sherrone Moore. Under different circumstances, he’d probably make a great hire at Michigan. In this situation with the timing, the current roster, the portal and all that goes with it, Moore is the only choice for the job. Definitely agree on Warde. If you are going to let him make the call on the next coach, then take the no brainer route. Don’t let him lead a national search.

They would be guaranteed stars if it were 1986 again.

Drafting well, especially in the later rounds, is the great equalizer of cap space. Holmes looks to have us in very good shape in this regard.

Love this hire for the Panthers - 💩 Job - 💩 Owner - 💩 Candidate Great match!

Cousins is going to SF to be reunited with Shanahan. The Niners are going to realize on Sunday that Brock Purdy was a flash in the pan and isn’t their guy. I’d guess Washington’s first move at QB would be to offer the Bears something stupid to move up one spot and see if that can convince Ryan Poles to stick with Fields instead of Caleb Williams (who is from DC).
