  1. Any athletes that are still in college and had to sit out a year in the past for a transfer will get an extra year of eligibility. This means that Utah QB Cam Rising could in theory stay for an 8th year in college next year.
  2. Kat is a money player. Of course he’s gonna flex. He probably got paid $300k tonight and that’s what matters to him. I really don’t see him being all that bothered by the outcome.
  3. Pearl Jam hits the stage in Seattle in about an hour. I’m sure that Ed will have plenty to say about today’s events. He wrote a song about Trump on their new album. It’s called Wreckage.
  4. Agree. 3 game series with a spot in the Final as a prize. It’s gonna be good.
  5. I never said the word ever. Where do you see the word ever? You are turning into what you hate, freak🧌
  6. No, that’s you reading something and taking your own meaning from what I said. I don’t think I’ll see him get another chance this season.
  7. I don’t disagree that he has very good stuff in the minors. I am not sure that one can say he has very good stuff for a major league pitcher. Spotty command on the other hand usually shows itself at any level.
  8. Initial thoughts are a first impression. You are failing to understand that concept. It’s supposed to have a very small sample size. All caveats aside, I didn’t think Montero pitched very well today. Made a few nice pitches but overall I was pretty unimpressed especially for someone that it’s supposed to be the 7th or 8th best prospect in the system. I was more impressed with seeing both Olson and Briekse in their stints last year. Both of those guys had life and movement on fastball and showed some secondary pitches as well. You could see there was something more with those two that had me interested to see them again. I didn’t get that feeling today with Montero. He was lucky to get out with what he did. I can’t imagine him facing a legit lineup with his flat fastball and over the plate off speed.
  9. I saw 4.1 innings of him. I also saw the pre game scooter video.
  10. I think he’s trying to prove to you that he’s not dumb.
  11. Don’t know about trolls but I’ve been warned plenty about Freaks.
  12. They couldn’t be my initial thoughts if I’d seen him before. That’s why they are initial thoughts. I’m not going apologize for not being very impressed with what I saw especially against a bad lineup. I’m not upset if you or anyone has a different opinion. I never called you dumb although arguing with people on the internet is dumb.
  13. He’s pitched 350 minor league innings. He’s got a ton of experience. Nervous or not, he was facing a dream lineup for a guy making his debut. This Pirates order looks even worse than the Tigers. Still couldn’t take advantage and made a few very bad mistakes
  14. Or they could go 1-2-3 on 9 pitches. Solid job guys.
  15. I said they were initial thoughts. They could change in the future but I’m not sure how since I don’t watch minor league ball. I don’t see Montero getting another chance. FWIW, one could also argue that many paid Tigers scouts aren’t really good scouts either.
  16. Nice 2 strike slider to get the K after getting super lucky getting away with a middle middle 79 mph curve.
  17. We really need Tork, McKinstry and Kelly to take a bunch of pitches before all striking out next inning. Skenes pitch count is getting up and our only chance appears to be getting into their bullpen. I feel bad for Tork having to face this guy. He’s got no chance.
  18. My initial thoughts are that I hope that voting was very wrong or else we are in a lot of trouble in the future.
  19. Initial thoughts on Montero. Very normal repertoire without exceptional stuff and leaves the ball out over the plate too much. Doesn’t appear to have a single plus pitch. Maybe he can help Toledo win a few games but doesn’t look like a prospect to me.
  20. Gibby keeps talking about wet ball bags.
  21. There’s no doubt that the top negro league players would’ve not only played in MLB but also have been stars. I wonder about the depth of talent and the overall competition level especially with the pitchers. My real issue is comparing numbers from a 50 game season to a 154 game season and treating them as the same. I think that’s a hard thing to go good good on. There are so many factors that differ when you have this big of a disparity over length of season.
