  1. You should take a look at the Angels historical attendance numbers. 37,000 average and over 3M total for nearly 20 straight years between their 2002 title and Covid.
  2. 7 years ago today RIP Legend
  3. Javy over .200 on the season!!
  4. Bryan Shaw is a renegade that’s had it made.
  5. Joe Mantiply sounds like the math teacher of an all boys high school. WTF Jason?
  6. Benetti is fantastic calling the action but I’m not going to lie, most of side jokes and general improv fall flat on their face. I’m left with a cringeworthy what the heck did he just say at least twice a broadcast.
  7. Hard to believe the Tigers are playing .500 ball and that’s only good for 5.5 out and 4th place in the supposed worst division in all of baseball. I would’ve called you crazy if you told me this back in spring training.
  8. Thankfully it wasn’t Sahith Theegala or Tony Finau that got stopped by Louisville PD. I cant imagine how that would’ve went down. On a side note, the biggest crime is this golf course. It’s not major championship quality.
  9. The cop who completely overreacted is facing a career change.
  10. Even with free tickets, it’s near impossible to go Comerica and get the full game experience without spending hundreds. $16 beers, $7 hot dogs, $7 peanuts. Don’t even bother walking into the souvenir area. $35 kids Tiger hats. It’s stupid expensive.
  11. There are multiple Twitter feeds devoted to nothing but missed umpire calls. It’s crazy looking at how many different umps get highlighted nightly. It’s not just a few guys that are the problem. It’s almost all of them. It’s gotten so bad that only a few guys aren’t missing multiple big calls every time they get behind the plate.
  12. I agree it shouldn’t matter but look at the video above as well this one from last month below. Lots of terrible misses on the outside. These catchers have gotten so good at framing that it’s hard to see them move the glove. It happens in a blink of an eye and the ump is easily misled.
  13. I wonder if they need to think about making catchers framing the ball illegal.
  14. Every week it’s the same and it’s not just an Angel and CB problem anymore.
  15. This Torkelson kid is really going to be something. What power!!!
  16. Looks like the powers that be at USA Hockey chose to start Alex Nedeljkovic instead today against Slovakia. Not a good choice as Ned let in 4 on 16 shots and is replaced by Trey in the 2nd.
  17. What’s Mario Impemba up to these days? I wonder if he’ll swing by Comerica Park the next few days and pull up a chair to catch up with old friends.
  18. The Timberwolves comparison that excites me is they are proving you don’t need solid ownership to build a contender.
  19. Alex Lyon got cut on his hand yesterday at Worlds and is out of the tournament. Trey Augustine came in and played well and looks to be the starter the rest of the way. This is very, very rare for U20 college goalie to get this kind of experience against pros at Worlds.
  20. Every.Single.Game. Multiple missed calls behind the plate
  21. Some great vids up. This is one of my favorites they do live.
  22. Congrats to everyone!
  23. I’d be shocked if the underworld gambling types haven’t already found a way to get at least one and maybe even a few umps in their pocket. MLB’s blind eye toward poor umpiring has to be one of the biggest game fixing opportunities to ever exist. An ump can very easily impact over/under run totals as well as strikeout totals for both SP based on how much they want to stretch the zone. Nobody will ever question it as MLB lets them call whatever zone they want without any repercussions. Managers or players are immediately ejected for disputing and aren’t allowed to comment publicly on it after games. They can call whatever they want and the league will never do anything to reprimand other than maybe not get a playoff assignment. I’m sure a majority a true blue to the game of baseball but there have to be a few that view it just as a job to make as much money as possible.
  24. Have either ever been represented by Arn, Arn’s agent son, or the firm that Arn pulled strings to get his kid the job? If the answer is no to all three, there’s a better than average chance the Pistons won’t purse.
