  1. I think we still have to give it some more time. Neither played any spring training and now trying to get ramped up against guys in midseason form. Both just needs at bats in my opinion but may need to see them pinch hit for late in games.
  2. Who knows. I hope its more about setting up the starting rotation the way Hinch wants for the second half. But you cant blame Skubal for wanting to start an All Star game if that's the reason. It still normal rest for in between so I don't think you can blame that. Just and off night.
  3. This should be Skubals last inning. just not the same pitcher at all tonight.
  4. Honestly this is the worst game this year for his command. Missing on a lot of his pitches and really not even close.
  5. I’ve looked at this a few times and the only solution is to cut some of the other older prospects getting passed by. I would anticipate the front office trying to find trade partners for some of the players for Bullpen and a 3/4/5 type SP at the deadline. After then maybe try a turn them into low minors high upside long shots and then make some cuts.
  6. Good hopefully that means he'll stop sucking at the plate now, good swing!
  7. He'll be alright. Seems to be pretty unlucky so far and that'll even out.
  8. Flaherty deserves this tonight, truly terrible command of all pitches. He probably frustrates me more then any SP on the staff with lack of control it just happened from the start tonight.
  9. Carpenter has been really bad in June at the plate so far. Hopefully he turns it around soon.
  10. We are not a good extra innings team. We strike out to much and don't have strikeout pitchers in the bullpen.
  11. He a good end of the starting rotation pitcher. Has good stuff but seems to struggle the 3rd time thru a lineup. The opener strategy is really good for him it seems.
  12. Hes playing in the field on a wet day so it cant be that bad or he should be sitting.
  13. Looked like he was just coasting instead of putting in much effort for sure.
  14. All correct and on top of that not a great fielder. If he can transition to 3B absolute keeper but as a 2B… I think on the farm we have a lot of options that are going to start to push him off of there in the next 1-2 seasons.
  15. I wouldn’t do it but there is another name that I think could be available in a trade that would be attractive. Colt Keith. I like him and his personality on this team but he is a cost controlled young player.
  16. I was always of the belief that coaches only impact the game a small amount and most of their work is managing workloads and personality throughout the season. This team is challenging that for me as I am starting to believe that this coaching staff is truly elite and helping us win games at a much higher clip.
  17. I haven't found/ looked for any data on this but it just seems like his bat is in the zone for less time then others. Just a lot of swing and miss. The other thing is it looks like he doesn't have a gameplan of how to attack the pitcher each at bat and just tries to hit everything.
  18. In my eyes a trade for Bichette would take someone who could play now. I’d let them choose between Jung and Lee both come to mind. Then also a high upside player like Montilla. So would you do Jung/Lee and Montilla for Bichette? I think I would and I think the Blue Jays atleast think about something like that. I don’t however think they will be sellers unless they go a big losing streak.
  19. Not great news for the teams Super Bowl chances but not unexpected. The Lions have been preparing for this for a couple years now with cross training and have even mentioned a couple practice squad players at C that they really like so I’m sure they’ve known. Glasgow will likely get the first crack at it with Rathledge and the practice squad guys battling for backup. Rathledge also battling for starter at G which I would Think would be likely.
  20. That’s funny cause I actually see Malloy as the least likely of the 3 (definitely means he’ll be the choice). I could see them sending down Perez not because he deserves it but just to get him at bats since he hasn’t had a lot with his DL stint.
  21. Who goes down when Parker is back which sounds like very soon? Sweeney/Malloy/Perez seem to be the most likely targets. Sweeney is going to be my guess for a reset. He’s been struggling for a while now at the plate and seems to have gone over to the field here recently.
  22. Mize not missing any bats today. Might be a short night for him if it doesn't turn around quick.
  23. I am hoping this is something he could’ve potentially just skipped one start or worked thru. But since we will need to limit his innings anyway and he is so young let’s just set him down for little while and work on some things away from the spotlight.
  24. This is just not the same team tonight. Bats have been a little quiet over the last couple series but there hasn’t even been many quality at bats tonight. Seems like mentally after the road trip and the rain they just are not mentally there tonight.
  25. Maybe we should try something different then hitting it directly to the center-fielder on a line?
