Dallas has professionals to. Their offense is good and the defense has played pretty good tonight i think. -

Thanks for finding that as its what I needed to see. Cant really blame Goff for protecting the FG. -

Seemed like Goff had the clock is in mind and threw it early and safe for atleast a FG. Id love to see a full field angle for the timing of when he actually let go of the ball. -

I agree that's ridiculous.....it just doesn't surprise me that we have more defensively then we get on offense based on how we play on both sides. -

Goff does not throw a lot of 50/50 or deep balls which is where the majority of the PI penalty are called. Are receivers are also excellent at getting separation its not a surprise to me that we don't see as many. Defensively we play the most man to man defense in the league which is going to get more called against you. -

I agree but still your throwing to a lineman who probably doesnt really know the check calls much. -

That was on Goff he stupidly checked to it. Looked like it was going to be in insert block with skipper as he was not ready. -
One would need to play 3rd part time at the very least as well and atleast Torres has been on record not wanted to play 3rd. I think that shipped sailed when Torres accepted in QO.

Meadows because of his elite defense is going to get all the chances he needs until Clark is ready. You can use Vierling, Perez, Baez and others there if need be but I’d be very surprised if that was a position they’d make a move at. Position player wise you can make an argument for a 3rd baseman although with Torres returning room is tight so it has to be a high level player and then it comes down to will they pay for that. Maybe a right handed corner outfielder as I think that could be cheaper and help balance out the lineup.

I would be surprised if we are aggressive in FA at all in the position player market. They are going to have some tough decisions to make already and adding a high priced player here makes that even more glaring. I could see us waiting and potentially taking on a 1 year prove it contract for someone who isn’t getting the deal they want but that’s about it. Pitching is where I see any spent money going this offseason again atleast early on. Where I see some tweaking being done is thru trades. Players of ours that that are getting into the arb years and blocking prospects or prospects that have fallen off being flipped for system depth and lottery ticket type players that have 1-2 really good tools but need development. I see a potential issue is pitching depth in our system right now so that’s where I’d be looking to add.

Week Thirteen: Green Bay Packers (7-3-1) @ Detroit Lions (7-4)

59.3 or 28/38 of graded centers overall 59.8 or 21/38 pass block 58.6 or 33/38 run block Basically he is not even playing at a replacement level. I would be shocked if he is on next year’s roster. -

If the defense didn’t hold, which it didn’t and we had 4 minutes left like we should have GreenBay likely punts on that 4th down or has to get atleast another 1st down or two to run time out which is a much larger margin of error. My point still stands that he mismanaged the final two times we had the ball but again this is in my opinion. -

They drafted 2 olineman this year and 2 last year. They also signed a DT and resigned multiple DLineman last year. You can disagree with their choices but not addressing it is a wrong take. I will say 2 things to your point, that relying on Davenport to supply pressure opposite of Hutch was stupid and relying on Glasgow for anything other than a backup veteran presence was also dumb. However, I believe they didn’t know Ragnow was retiring because he has hinted at that in multiple off seasons and Glasgow would’ve been the backup at all 3 interior positions. -

I don’t believe there is a win now mode in the NFL. Holmes and Campbell want to be in win forever mode. This is a foreign concept to Lions fans so wanting to be all in makes sense. I am much more interested in being an organization that has an opportunity every season, even if they start to look like they're falling out of the running like right now, are still playing winning football overall. -

Goff has no skills that are likely to decline much with age at least in the near term. His decline in play recently has nothing to do with his skills declining and everything to do with his athletic limitations specifically with handling middle pressure. He is a surgeon and extremely smart when given time. I am sure the organization has seen this and will address it when they can this offseason. -

Honestly he’s really not but since it is objective I can only state my reasons for this. He often goes to half without using his timeouts when there was an opportunity to use them for potential points. They often are slow at making decisions on when to challenge or not to challenge allowing teams to quick snap and get away with a bad play. Currently we are having a problem with breaking the huddle quick enough to allow for Goff to read the defense. Today there’s examples of using the run game down 2 scores with under 5 minutes left in the game. I just believe it is a weakness of higher he needs consistently work on and it’s gotten a lot worse n the last couple weeks while he is calling plays. -

There is one major flaw that I see with the Holmes/Campbell leadership and it’s by far the most annoying thing for me. Its that they are both stubborn to a fault and they are not going to make changes to the game plan based upon availability of players. Campbell is also not going to change his FG vs go for it approach either based on it. The amount of time that I see us go for it straight up the middle like we still have last years line is infuriating. Also he should have taken the points and got to 7 down. Next drive we can choose to go for it on 4th even after the sack knowing we still only need one score instead of being forced to kick the field goal there. Head coach calling plays is brutal for clock management strategy which I already consider one of the weaker attributes for Dan. Too many hats cause for slow decisions and I would still rather have Morton calling plays. It’s not like the offense has improved. This team is going to have a hard time making the playoffs this year I think. just too many injuries/weaknesses to overcome at this point. However the talk of a closed window is just dumb. This is a very talented roster that is just a couple players away at key positions on the line to be exactly where they were last year and no one is coming out of their prime yet. -

If we are going to be stubborn and play man to man then we have to get pressure. Way too easy of throws so far. -

Will Goff throw the dang ball. He has to know there won’t be time. -

And Wright as well. Going to be a much different looking offensive game plan then we are used to I think. Mostly run based and short routes again with a screen game. Unfortunately that’s similar to the game plan we had week one and the Packers dominated us. Expect heavy A-gap pressure and simulated pressure with walked up backers for added confusion. Defense I fear is going to need to play great and potentially get a couple takeaways. -

Don’t lose sight of the fact that we were already in FG for range and we threw it well short of the sticks again. -

Apparently the players got their money then decided they didn’t want to play with much effort anymore. -
I agree with a lot of this at least how the roster stands right now. I will add that I still think we see a trade or two. I could see McKinstry/Sweeney/Vierling/Perez and even Keith or Carpenter potentially moved for some pitching along with some of our log jam of 2B prospects. I think they want McGonigle to earn a spot on the opening day roster. Sent him to the fall league for some 3rd base experience and he will play SS/3B/2B to get experience and find playing time near the amount of a full time starter. If they sign a Bichette or Bregman type I don’t think that plan would change other than a bigger need for a trade.

Sure but odds are based on the night we don't do anything with. The difference is early in the game we were way to aggressive in going for it and not getting it. Then we got into throwing only mode and Goff cant handle interior pass rush so he turned into a pumpkin.
