  1. You’ve got some free agents to make decisions on with some major contract extensions looming as well in future years to consider how much you want to spend this year. oline- Zietler could be gone but I’d try and resign him for another 1 year. I do think Mahogany can replace him here but still feel with need another guard. Ragnow is a potential retire as well definitely if we win the Super Bowl so a center could be needed. Then you already mentioned Decker fading so anyway you cut it some young depth is needed along then online. Secondary- Another FA is Davis and I think he’s due for a big pay raise. Do we do that and risk losing one of our drafted guys by not being able to afford an extension? I think they could let him walk or franchise tag him. Melifonwu could be looking for a bigger deal and starting roll than the Lions are willing to give but I’d try to get him back. Dline- you’ve got Barnes as a FA who I’d like back and Levi who has played very well down the stretch. Can we count on him to be healthy for the contract he’s likely to get? I think I would be looking for depth here. so with all that said and Pre free agency I’m looking. DE-Interior OL- DT- S/CB depth
  2. Honestly its a break for your defense so I don't hate it and you cant take them with you.
  3. Apparently we are getting Houston Goff today with his decision making. Its fine to take a shot but it was double coverage with both defenders on top.
  4. Agreed! But I don't expect it to last in the second half. We are going to need to score more then one possession.
  5. You can't? They throw a lot in that situation...
  6. I agree here. Tork is really the only guy on our roster who has a power game. It would be malpractice to give up on him while he’s still relatively cheap. Getting him off of first full time and away from his defensive shortcomings potentially helps get his mind straight for hitting and it’s worth seeing if that happens or not. I strongly believe it’s mental with him and not talent when he’s in the batters box.
  7. Most these players weren't on active rosters to start the year for a reason. With that said we are doing a poor job both in coverage and getting pressure so scheme wise they need to make some adjustments at half.
  8. Late on the throw because he had him open.
  9. But who do I get to roll my eyes at then?
  10. Seriously because we are all tired of you saying this every week, where is it proven? Please provide any analytical data that it leads to more wins.
  11. i get that you can get two possession in a row however the stats don't work out that you get anymore possessions so it really doesn't matter.
  12. That is why you take the ball first……..
  13. If he hits for consistent power he has a spot at DH and pinch hitting. If he doesn’t hit he’ll be at Toledo until he does or traded to a team that might think they can fix him.
  14. I’m going to go on record saying I don’t really see the fit here at first glance. I like the player though so depending on how it works out could be a big benefit offensively. I saw Keith improve a ton at second and felt comfortable with him there long term and think we take a step back defensively at 2B. Hinch loves to platoon and if Keith takes to first base and can play some third as well then thats great but I think that’s taking a huge leap of faith.
  15. I do agree that it would be business as usual however it’s the little things. Maybe half the snaps for Gibbs as normal to reduce chance of injury. Or if someone got a little bit banged up in game instead of forcing the issue you just rest them. Play calling becomes a little bit more vanilla and you work on some basics that you’ve been neglecting. Things like that would be a huge advantage when backed with an additional week off. Because of this I’m hoping Green Bay wins because that extra week to get people back healthy or closer to it would be huge.
  16. He wasnt one on one it looked like it was Cover 4 zone not man which means he has deep quarter yet he bit up on a double move.
  17. I don't know how many times people need to tell you this. The problem isnt that you blame coaching its that you only ever blame coaching. Arnold sucked up on a double move trying to cherry pick and Meli was late getting over from the safety position in his first game action this year. Not everything is coaching and its a lazy take.
  18. I believe they put in a rule that if the ball goes thru the setup zone (20 yards) untouched the play is dead and then the receiving team gets the ball. Basically eliminating exactly that from happening.
  19. At this point you have to wonder if our style of defense is causing these injuries and needs to change or if we need to look at our strength and conditioning teams to make changes for next year. most of the injuries look random right now but something has got to be improved on here.
  20. lol…… this is just comical at this point.
  21. Probably correct. We are going to have to play to not give up big chunk plays and hope for a turnover or 2 on defense. At least make offenses have to work a little bit. I doubt we get much pressure the rest of the way.
  22. When Melifonwu is healthy I wonder if we kick Robertson outside to CB and move branch to slot.
  23. Honestly it doesn’t matter where we finish and only matters what our health looks like. Our 2 losses are both at home so I think we can still win from a lower seed. I believe we are the best team in the NFL but right now we aren’t even remotely healthy which probably puts us in the top 10 barely.
  24. I don’t disagree but it is a factor and my guess is that it would be a consideration. So if you think he’s going to be one of your top 4 starters by the middle/end of the year. Then imo he might as well learn in the big leagues. if you don’t think that will be the case because he’s still green and you can hold off until September again then sure let him get the innings in the minors. To me his stuff plays now in the majors and pitchers only have so many innings in three arms. I’m taking him north even if it’s out mid the bullpen to start. With the condensed minor leagues now there is a huge talent gap between AAA and the majors that I don’t think it’s as good of a place to get ready anymore.
