If he hits for consistent power he has a spot at DH and pinch hitting. If he doesn’t hit he’ll be at Toledo until he does or traded to a team that might think they can fix him.

I’m going to go on record saying I don’t really see the fit here at first glance. I like the player though so depending on how it works out could be a big benefit offensively. I saw Keith improve a ton at second and felt comfortable with him there long term and think we take a step back defensively at 2B. Hinch loves to platoon and if Keith takes to first base and can play some third as well then thats great but I think that’s taking a huge leap of faith.

I do agree that it would be business as usual however it’s the little things. Maybe half the snaps for Gibbs as normal to reduce chance of injury. Or if someone got a little bit banged up in game instead of forcing the issue you just rest them. Play calling becomes a little bit more vanilla and you work on some basics that you’ve been neglecting. Things like that would be a huge advantage when backed with an additional week off. Because of this I’m hoping Green Bay wins because that extra week to get people back healthy or closer to it would be huge.

Week Sixteen: Detroit Lions (12-2) @ Chicago Bears (4-10)

He wasnt one on one it looked like it was Cover 4 zone not man which means he has deep quarter yet he bit up on a double move. -

I don't know how many times people need to tell you this. The problem isnt that you blame coaching its that you only ever blame coaching. Arnold sucked up on a double move trying to cherry pick and Meli was late getting over from the safety position in his first game action this year. Not everything is coaching and its a lazy take. -

I believe they put in a rule that if the ball goes thru the setup zone (20 yards) untouched the play is dead and then the receiving team gets the ball. Basically eliminating exactly that from happening. -
Week Fifteen: Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Detroit Lions (12-1)

At this point you have to wonder if our style of defense is causing these injuries and needs to change or if we need to look at our strength and conditioning teams to make changes for next year. most of the injuries look random right now but something has got to be improved on here. -

lol…… this is just comical at this point. -

Probably correct. We are going to have to play to not give up big chunk plays and hope for a turnover or 2 on defense. At least make offenses have to work a little bit. I doubt we get much pressure the rest of the way. -

When Melifonwu is healthy I wonder if we kick Robertson outside to CB and move branch to slot. -

Honestly it doesn’t matter where we finish and only matters what our health looks like. Our 2 losses are both at home so I think we can still win from a lower seed. I believe we are the best team in the NFL but right now we aren’t even remotely healthy which probably puts us in the top 10 barely. -
I don’t disagree but it is a factor and my guess is that it would be a consideration. So if you think he’s going to be one of your top 4 starters by the middle/end of the year. Then imo he might as well learn in the big leagues. if you don’t think that will be the case because he’s still green and you can hold off until September again then sure let him get the innings in the minors. To me his stuff plays now in the majors and pitchers only have so many innings in three arms. I’m taking him north even if it’s out mid the bullpen to start. With the condensed minor leagues now there is a huge talent gap between AAA and the majors that I don’t think it’s as good of a place to get ready anymore.

If Jobe is going to be on the team at all this year then he’s going to start in Detroit. The potential draft compensation for rookie of the year is a big deal for smaller/mid market teams to compete. Now he might start in the pen to limit innings early on and let him learn big league hitters. Or they might skip a bunch of starts to do that which also means they need more cheap veteran depth.

I’m not done with him and would be happy to keep him. However, For me he is an attractive trade chip that we can part with as his lefty hitting and more second base profile is already on the roster.

Week Fourteen: Green Bay Packers (9-3) @ Detroit Lions (11-1)

We should have the leg up on tie breakers with them now because of common opponents, sos and sov. Philly needs us to probably lose twice and them win out. I think that is what I read earlier anyway. -

I get why they went for it. Honestly if we were healthier on defense i think he punts. Trying to shorten the game as much as possible with the offense. -

Because he is pressing trying to make up for prior mistakes and he needs to calm down. -

Yep clunker games happen in the NFL but this one does show a tendency on how to play against us. -

Laporta didn't block anyone. Got caught up between as his guy went up field wide so he should've climbed to second level and that is who blew up the play. -

Honestly Goff is just pressing and looks even worse then he did against Tampa earlier in the year. You can't win with this type of QB play. -

I get why your upset and I don't like that choice either because what happened could happen. However, they were doing nothing offensively and honestly probably felt like getting to halftime only down 9 was lucky with how they played. Unfortunately they couldn't even get out of half properly. They have no ability to slow down the pass rush or open up passing lanes and they are not allowing Goff to make easy decisions. It honestly has been a masterclass of defense so far against our offense. Defensively we've honestly done alright outside of 1st and last drive of the half with giving up some chunk plays. -

Goff has no clue what is going on in front of him right now.
