  1. Maton is a 2B. They just plugged him at 3B some times cause that’s what we do. EDIT: sorry, meant Mayton
  2. If you recall, the late 70’s/early 80’s teams had tons of LH hitters—Staub, Thompson, Summers, Kemp, Hebner, Gibby. Probably forgetting others. Morales didn’t really do anything as a Tiger, but I believe that trade also netted us Senor Smoke, so losing Bob Sykes was worth it. Interestingly, Morales was in town a few weeks back for a card signing. I didn’t think he’d have much appeal.
  3. I would prefer he stays, but I actually think his market will be strong if he can pitch close to how he has once he returns from his injury.
  4. We’ll also be saving close to $20M when Eduardo opts out.
  5. As a reminder, nobody in this organization is one of Harris’ guys. He didn’t draft any of them and holds no attachment. We could see some surprises at the deadline.
  6. If he keeps this up, hopefully we’ll get to see him in July or August. However, if Greene and Baddoo can come back relatively soon, there won’t be a lot of AB’s to go around in the outfield.
  7. McCoskey is shameless in his defense of all things Tigers
  8. His OPS would be top 3 on this team. I would have preferred him over Nevin. Maybe a 40 man issue? We already have a crunch coming with Manning and Skubal’s imminent return from the 60-day DL.
  9. I tend to agree with this.
  10. Nevin? Really no improvement and he’s not a prospect or future contributor.
  11. Pretty funny response to Mayton’s demotion
  12. LSU (Crews) vs Florida (Langford) on ESPN right now. If LSU wins, they win the CWS. If Florida wins, it goes to a deciding game, where I think Skenes would pitch.
  13. Nevin isn’t the answer. He tempts you with his performance at AAA, but it doesn’t translate to the bigs. Please bring up Lipcius or Camargo.
  14. I know the org isn’t trying to tank, but their stubbornness or indifference to winning is demoralizing. I’m sure the players aren’t happy, either—they are wired to want to win. Cause, winning is better.
  15. Remember, he’s in there for his bat.
  16. Harold can easily give them at least 3 innings, throwing his 55 MPH gas.
  17. Peyton Graham and Luke Gold are starting to put together good numbers in Low A. Poor Cristian Santana has been struggling to keep his batting average above .100.
  18. This might be a bullpen game after all.
  19. Sparing those of us watching on the tee-vee
  20. Shameful. A lost decade of Tigers baseball. The last 7 years of futility don’t come close to that misery, IMO.
  21. Raining all day in Birmingham. This game gonna happen?
