  1. I know they took 2 of 3 from us, but I’m not very optimistic about the Dodgers chances in the postseason. Wasn’t super impressed watching them, besides Betts and Freeman.
  2. I hope guessing his diagnosis will be part of the next game’s parlay.
  3. Harper came back early as a DH. I could see Greene doing that, too.
  4. yes--we should not look at next season as part of a rebuild. Interestingly, with improvements this season, and returns from injury, we should have a very good core for next season to build around (Greene, Tork, Carpenter, Rogers, Skubal, Mize, Manning, Foley, Lange). Optimism for continued development from guys like Brieske, Gipson-Long, Faedo, Holton, Wentz and Meadows. Promotions for Keith and Malloy, with the possibility that we could see at some point players from this group: Madden, Flores, Hurter, Kreidler, Dingler, Jung, Jobe and Mattison. Make an addition or two via free agency. A 86-88 win season is within reach. Given the state of the AL Central, we should capitalize on the current talent vacuum in the division and set our sights on a postseason berth.
  5. I wonder if the Tigers will talk to Baez about his role on the team beyond this season? If playing time is not guaranteed and they view him more as a UT player, conveying that to him as he is pondering his opt-out would be in both sides best interests. If Javy elects to stay, he would be doing that with “eyes wide open.”
  6. I’d ask Doc Brown to have Leyland and his coaches implement some additional fielding drills for our pitchers.
  7. I went to both, but don’t remember many differences. 2006 was so unexpected, that it seemed to be more exciting. By 2012, Tiger fans had come to expect the success.
  8. Not gonna call this a must win—pretty much a certain win. Tigers lineup hits at least 3 dingers tonight. Take it to Vegas.
  9. I’ve long considered most of the content that everyone posts here as Spam, so this is nothing new for me.
  10. I think we’ll take 2 of 3 from the Dodgers.
  11. The ski mask thing didn’t age well.
  12. Two dingers for Jake Rogers today. 19 on the season. It took a few seasons longer than we all hoped for, but we can finally declare that we won the Verlander trade.
  13. No pressure yet on Geno—thought they had two OL starters out?
  14. Have to feel some optimism about how the minors are ending. Malloy, Keith and Jung are knocking on the door after exceptional seasons. Bigbie, maybe too, but doesn’t have the same pedigree as the others, so will be interesting to see him next season at Toledo. Even Flores, Madden and Hurter have ended the season on a high note, along with Jobe. Encouraging way to enter the offseason.
  15. Can they make the playoffs?
  16. Probably why I brought it up.
  17. MLB.com shows Diaz as today’s starter. Is it a bullpen day? I’m looking forward to seeing ERod pitch against the Dodgers. They might have a chip on their shoulder over the rejection, but they also just clinched and might not really care about that.
  18. They said on yesterdays broadcast that players of Puerto Rico descent or past winners or current nominees for the Roberto Clemente award were eligible to wear #21.
  19. It’s to honor Roberto Clemente. Miggy is, too.
  20. The Motor City Kitties will finish this season 9-7. 76-86 on the year. Fix the lineup and we’ll see that record inverted next year.
  21. Wait until he finds out that Lorenzen has imploded, post no-no, and is probably heading to the Phillies pen.
  22. This is an unexpected honor
