  1. easy to rip them when youre michigan. is michigan going to share its money with cmu or emu? nyah.
  2. san jose got back a low first round pick and salary. i dont think this was a good deal for them, i think it was the only deal they could get. they didnt get very much for meier or karlsson.
  3. what's market value for rodriguez?
  4. pittsburgh is going to have one of the best offensive fives and power plays in the league. the REST of the team? hmmm... but its kyle dubas. score score score. defense is for suckers.
  5. are they retaining salary?
  6. nd has a contract with the acc too. theyre bound by that to some respect. also, they'll join when nbc tells them to join. now they dont need to because they have a path to the playoff and nbc wants to add big ten teams to their schedule. the big ten isnt going to say no to their new partner who is paying them a billion a year. and nd could always go to the sec.
  7. you think its bad now? wait until the saudis/qataris get involved. theyre buying up soccer teams, golf leagues, etc. dont think they wouldnt relish the chance to come in and do the same to this cash cow. start a new conference with florida state, north carolina etc? chump change compared to buying man united. become the sponsor of the new college football playoffs after the big ten and sec break away from the ncaa? who knows?
  8. those bears linebackers will be great tackling guys 5 and 6 yards downfield...
  9. they did that last year. but at some point you have to pass and if justin fields takes too long to throw the ball and only throws it when the guy is open (rather than "throwing him open"), then he'll never be lamar jackson. which was the concern coming out of college with him.
  10. he'll be able to afford more street clothes to wear on the sideline when he's injured.
  11. exactly, that's basically what indiana would be without the big ten football draw. seriously, iowa, purdue, indiana, they should all be writing thank you letters to michigan, ohio state, and penn state for bringing them along for the ride. as these conferences become mega monoliths concerned with nothing but football cash, will it necessitate the break up of the big ten? will the michigans and ohio states of the world feel ok with dragging along their less monied brethren? or will they want all the cash?
  12. how lucky is rutgers? and indiana? and northwestern? and maryland?
  13. reports that washington and oregon are being offered entrance with a reduced share. no word on stanford and cal.
  14. i dont think its coaching. he had spurts where he was good under aaron glenn and then he became awful again. that isnt because patricia was mean. he should be a safety. his best time as a lion was when he was close to the line of scrimmage, that dallas game.
  15. poor kid just cant buy any luck.
  16. that ben chairot contract looks really bad. washington: hold my beer.
  17. get him some lexapro too.
  18. did the team finally get him some lexapro?
  19. that's not saying much. an oft injured backup catcher as the main return for the best pitcher of this generation. Al Avila strikes again.
  20. maybe even deal boyd for gleyber torres!
  21. also from the athletic: there are a lot of presidents who are more interested in waiting to see if the ACC breaks up than paying for oregon and washington. monetarily, that makes more sense. again, grabbing florida state and/or miami makes more immediate monetary sense than any of the other west coast teams. you already have the west coast because you have USC. but to get into the acc, you have to break the grant of rights. and i am reading that it might be able to be broken if half the acc teams agree to break it.
  22. from the arhletic today: Feldman: From everything I’ve heard, TV does not want to pay more for this, nor do some of the schools already. Why would they give up stuff for places that they weren’t jumping in the picture for?
  23. rogers is not young.
  24. yup. dude signed a big contract with you and then disappears for half the season. he couldnt work out his "family issues" before he got a huge contract? of course not. then he backtracks at the last minute and screws you out of a trade. he's a flake and injury prone and unreliable. no thanks. good luck in your future somewhere else.
  25. does the tv contract change if you add more games? are they paid by the game? i havent seen anyone write that adding these four teams would alter the tv contract or add significant additional value to the tv contract. all i've seen are articles saying the big ten didnt want them originally because they didnt bring enough value and they werent interested in adding them for the same reason. until now because the pac ten is about to cease to exist. if youre reading something different, i'd love to see it. in fact, florida state probably adds a lot more value than cal and stanford combined.
