progress is not linear. they're not going to just win more games every year until theyre 17-0. the nfl is full of close games. a lot depends on timing, injuries, and turnovers. goff didnt turn the ball over ONCE during their big run last year. i dont forsee that happening again. i expect them to be better because i expect the defense to be better. i expect the offense to be the same. i can see 10-12 wins for them if they stay healthy and get some luck. but im a pessimist! 🙂 especially when it comes to the lions.

dont need old and slow with an attitude problem.

i wouldnt be surprised if the lions start 0-2 and 1-4 and still win 10 games.

exactly. he was dealt for a middling reliever prospect and a 20 year old shortstop currently hitting .150 in the sally league.

no, like christin stewart.

dont think nbc isnt well aware that notre dame v sister mary of the poor drew barely more (1.5 million) than a soccer game, while ohio state v indiana drew 4.6 million. rutgers-northwestern drew over 2× what notre dame did. why is nbc going to give notre dame all that money for 1/3 the audience of big time big ten games?

Week One: Detroit Lions (0-0) @ Kansas City Chiefs (0-0)

its been since the early to mid 90s that i was excited about the lions. barry, herman moore, brett perriman. by the mid 90s scott mitchell was supposed to be the final piece to that offense. 1991 they opened against washington (one of the best teams in nfl history) and got smacked 45-0. they went on to win the division and their only playoff game in the modern era (and then get smacked again by washington 41-10). so even if they get blown out its not the end of the world or the season. the other time was 1995 when they started off 0-3 and 2-5 but bounced back to make a wild card. that offense was humming down the stretch and all they had to do was go to philly and beat a .500 eagles squad with rodney flipping peete as qb... they were down 38-7 at halftime. fontes got an extension after the game. so im still a little gun shy about getting excited about detroit. once bitten, twice shy....bitten thirty five times and you might be really reticent to commit. -

my entire history as a lions fan tells me that if the chiefs were without all those guys, the lions would find a way to lose. especially if the playoffs were on the line. lol. -
me too. i realize he's still a positive offensive player, but if they got rid of vrana and totally tried to change zadina's game because they were reluctant to buy into the defensive system, i hardly think patrick kane would be on the top of their lists. and i doubt kane would want to come here. he can pick and choose now. he's won 3 cups already but maybe he wants another? i thought buffalo would be a target for him too. not detroit even if debrincat is here.

aaron donald. -
yup. theyre not paying $8 billion to watch indiana play south carolina a & m state.

he's probably mad because he's not starting or something like that. lost a poker game in the locker room and got his nose out of joint. if he was being traded i doubt he'd be practicing, but you never know.

kopech was pretty good as a reliever but has been middling to bad as a starter. so the sox keep him as a starter in a desperate attempt to get chris sale 2.0 out of the chris sale trade. kopech also sat out the covid season and has been an overall disappointment for the sox. moncada and kopech was a great haul for sale at the time, but they both have turned into mentally and physically fragile players. -
a tiny american team lost to a huge lithuanian team. its troy weaver's dream scenario. somewhere joe dumars is pounding the table about how a monroe-drummond-smith frontcourt could work if he just had the right coach.

neither faedo nor wentz are any good as starters. maybe they'll have a future in the pen. -
he's a self centered ass? he went there and kicked half the team out? he succeeded at jackson state because they were paying more than anyone else? ive never cared for him. that said, he'll be successful at colorado because he'll get top talent to play for him.
