    for even more context, when i said the eagles were going to be really good before the season i was mocked here. MOCKED! lol. eagles winning thr nfc east at +400 was almost as easy to pick as the bears under 6.5 wins. (pay no attention to that colts division winner bet...i dont know where that came from. must have been hacked that day.)

    2/3 of the starting qbs in the league were first round picks. usually high first round picks. brees, wilson, brady, montana, are the exception, not the rule.

    i think a lot of those stories are akin to robbie grossman leaving and saying he learned so much by watching film....and then performing exactly the same. people always trash the old regime when the new regime comes in. i take it with a grain of salt.

    the knock on gonzalez is that he's not a physical run defender, wont step up against the run. great cover guy. not sure that's what this lions team is looking for in a corner. they may want someone more physical.

    yzerman is assembling a lot of picks. that islanders pick could end up being vancouver's unprotected first in 2024 and the bert pick could be the bruins unprotected first in 2025 if the bruins age results in them tanking next year. shrewd, imo.

    vrana scored as many goals in detroit as mantha did in washington. in 1/3 of the games. the trade didnt work out perfectly, but its ultimate value will depend on how cossa and buchelnikov do.
