i dont think its "discomfort," i think its a lack of knowledge and confidrnce that leads to embracing the status quo. but none of us really know. it could very well be my bias against guys born with silver spoons in their mouths. or my bias against people that make obviously stupid decisions like letting Al Avila run your baseball organization.

non invasive back surgery has been a boon for doctor's pocketbooks and horrible for their patients. i have no idea what All went through. however, given that he got the surgery in florida against the wishes of michigan medical personnel leads me to believe he made a rash decision. always error on the side of caution when it comes to back surgery.

Week Fifteen: Detroit Lions (6-7) @ New York Jets (7-6)

its better that the vikes won. the lions werent going to catch them for the division and this keeps the eagles motivated. we need the eagles to want to beat the giants the last week of the season. root for the cowboys and the vikings. -
corum should go pro. one michigan doctor 40 years ago goosing athletes means little to how All was treated (or not treated). we have many cases in florida. unnecessary surgeries made for the doctor (and lawyer) to make money are very prevalent in florida. the real needs of the patient are often put on the backburner. is that what happened here? dunno. but the motivations of doctors to get paid is often more important than the actual needs of their patients.

not looking good. good teams have beaten them easily and now to drop points at home to the sens? husso is no longer bailing you out. things looks bleak with all the injuries to some of their best players.

i said al avila should have been fired after the jd martinez trade. if that wasnt bad enough, chris let him trade verlander for a bag of magic beans. maybe chris learns from his mistakes, but dont be fooled, chris's mistakes in keeping avila in charge set this franchise back a decade.
-
its not loyalty, its that he didnt know what to do so he promoted and kept a guy who was bad at his job.
-
chris is the problem because he didnt fire avila until last year.

sheesh. he's going to miss a good chunk of his first year, almost all of his second year, and a good chunk of his third year. not good, bob. -

the pistons won that game 113-106. playing for the kings that night was former pistons #1 pick jimmy walker, who would become more well known later in life as the father of jalen rose. -
michigan is pulling in some quality transfers in the portal. is it possible that they are finally adapting to the new recruiting world? hope so, because their recruiting class this year is terrible right now.
-
which is a credit to mcvey for putting together such a good staff.

that doesnt mean goff didnt benefit greatly from mcvay. it probably says a lot more about how well ben johnson and dan campbell are doing and that perhaps they should be mentioned in the same converaation.
-
didnt we nix that trade because bol was hurt? he looks fine to me...
-
minnesota is a dirty team.
-
they also won the super bowl after getting rid of him for a qb who did those things better. i dont follow the rams enough to know what their offense looked like when goff was in years 2 and 3, and if it was appreciably different in years 4 and 5 when his production changed. i only know what was in the media following the trade.

i think that's a bit misleading. i think the lions' schedule is a little harder than it looks. the next two games will be tough tests for them. especially the jets game. and the final two games are rivalry games. -
people think goff and stafford are similar because the people on this board pay attention to the lions and goff and stafford are lions qbs. stafford is a guy with a million dollar gun for an arm. goff doesnt have that and is much more of a game manager type. they are not really similar qbs. and as we all know, the rams got rid of goff because he couldnt go downfield like stafford, or the rams felt he didnt go downfield like stafford.

au revoir morrocco. that's what you get for booing la marseillaise. -
the true narrative is that you need better players to win in football. if the lions think they can upgrade their qb position (the most important position) in the future through a high pick in this year's draft, they should do it.

france lose two more starters (neither of whom would be starting without the original starters being injured) for the game. there arent too many nations that could produce enough talent to make third and fourth string guys who start at liverpool.
