to repeat, it is very difficult to win on the road in the nfl. expecting the lions to win that many games in the row on the road is a bit unrealistic. -

if the goal is to lose as many games as possible, then whatever they've done has been a great success. after this season is over, do the pistons buy a free agent? is there anyone left to buy after this season? or do they run it back and continue to draft high forever? -

seahawks last two games are at home against the jets and rams. i dont think they'll lose either of those games. maybe the jets if white can play qb. washington's last two are the browns and cowboys. they'll be favored against the browns and the cowboys might be playing their second string. i still think the lions will have to win out in order to make it. -

i hated the hawks when i was young. seemed like they were the first team the pistons had to beat before they slew the celtics beast. -
i'll take bauer. immediately the best pitcher on the team.

i dont get why everyone is bitching about not spending on free agents. has everyone forgotten that they spent a ton of money LAST YEAR???? and how did that work out? free agents fail to make a meaningful impact more often than not. spending big money on guys in their 30s is bad business that will come back to haunt you. and the tigers werent going to get the guys who are 27ish. draft and develop your own talent and then pay to keep it (or deal it to bring in more talent). baseball has a great system for the owners who get these guys for cheap for 6 years! use that system properly and you can keep the talent pipeline rolling along for years and years. go trolling for big name free agents and you end up with javy baez. how'd that work out?

what are you going to give up for madrigal? he was a top 5 pick and then was the centerpiece of a trade with the sox. he's had some injury problems at the mlb level. i doubt the cubs will give him away for a lefty reliever with control problems.

i love sunday ticket. we'll see how it goes with streaming, i kind of liked recording it and watching it again. red zone is probably the most overrated channel, imo. i like to watch the games, not just when one team is in the other team's 20 yard line. i hope youtube doesnt get eid of the nfl mix channel where you can watch all the games at once.

a much needed win. tampa gets a little chippy when they lose.

its not an "sol" thing to think its unlikely the lions will win 4 straight or 3 out of 4 to close the season, its more an acknowledgment of how hard that is to do in the nfl. most nfl games are decided on thin margins, veritable coin flips. the odds are in one of the last three games the lions will lose the coin flip. otoh, it was similarly unlikely they would win 6 of their last 7. and they did it. so who knows? -

i think that tweet came directly from troy weaver's agent's press release. which, of course, was sent to shams before anyone else. -
then you get a 5* (or high 4*) for the next class. you should always be recruiting high level qbs. always. if not, youre left with john navarre when henson leaves early. you usually have a chance to get one every other recruiting class. michigan took jj 2 classes ago. this was the year to get the next one but they missed on moore. now they've put all their eggs into jaden smith...and as stanley notes, he has yet to commit.
-
the ncaa will do nothing. we'll wait until the first breach of contract lawsuit comes out, or when the schools' boosters get tired of paying for dante moore only to see him leave and get paid again by another school without even playing a down. then you'll see a push for rule changes, contracts, benefits, etc. a democrat controlled nlrb could make them all employees and eiligible to unionize. who knows what will happen? i think the only sure thing is that the ncaa will do nothing, and michigan will cry that no one but them is following the rules.
-
i seriously doubt any of this is true, or completely true. chip kelly was paying for recruits at oregon too, back when it was illegal. its legal now. he got paid by someone. as for why he didnt get paid at michigan, who knows? i dont think he clicked with the coaches.

you need the 5* behind jj for one year and then to take over for jj.

ditka lost 3 of his first 4 to the lions. and then didnt lose again for 5 years. -
he can go to texas and underachieve like every other 5* recruit before him. have fun losing 4 or 5 games a year every year in the sec.
