i dont know what youre on about. as usual. you draft jalen carter because he's one of the only people on the planet who can do what he does. the fact that someone he left a bar with, in a car next to him, crashed and died is not a reason not to draft him into your team. not in my opinion. nobody is dressing up sport as a moral resorative exercise or whatever psychobabble youre preaching. jalen carter is a huge dancing bear who can get to a quarterback in less than three seconds. that's what this is all about.

you win the tournament. if you win a cup tournament, you win the cup. i dont get why this is so hard for americans to understand. its another competition, you play to win it.

he's a kid. kids make mistakes, do stupid shit, and panic. it shouldnt mark you for the rest of your life.

so far? -
i suspect its a lot more complicated than that. even if he did, for someone his age to panic in a situation like that would not be uncommon.

the cup tournaments involve teams from all divisions. top league teams play each other all the time once the initial rounds are over. its a blind draw. the finals are almost always top league teams against one another. it is different because you have more than one league. it would be if they put college teams and g-league teams in it.

youre just making up reasons not to like it before it even starts. if you want to be a bitter old man who doesnt like any change, have at it. we'll see how it goes. you can come on here and not start game threads in protest. you'll show them for trying to make detroit-houston meaningful!

i was when michigan was in it.

i dont expect you to "give a rip" because soccer does it, i'm just saying other sports do it and its successful and generates a lot of interest. it gives teams something else to play for. i know how excited you are in watching the pistons try to lose every game for the last four years. why would the players care? $500k per player if you win might do that, dont you think? not everyone on the league is on a max contract ya know.

because you can win the tournament.
-
you hate the idea of a mid season tournament because youre worried about the "flow" of a detroit-charlotte match in february? why not add a little extra spice to a game that both teams would normally sleepwalk through? soccer runs three or four other tournaments during the regular season. its fun. american sports could benefit from something similar.

love it. you're at #6 and not likely (god willing) to be therr again for a while. seing for the fences on talent. who are the most gifted players in this draft? jalen carter, will anderson, christian gonzalez.....and anthony richardson. maybe wilson too. go get one of them and worry about "fit" later.

jamaal needs a new agent.

i like the in-season tournament. soccer has been doing it for years. pretty decent incentives for them too. even lebron wouldnt sniff at $500k.

now THATS how you tank! dwayne casey has surpassed erwin rommel as the true master of tank warfare. -
this is more like it.

we used to complain every year about the pistons winning meaningless games at the end of the year and costing themselves draft position. come on wings, dont be like the pistons. no one should emulate the pistons.
-
richardson at 6, bijan at 18, washington and torrence in round 2. ben johnson calling plays! create the greatest running offense in nfl history!
-
if carter or anderson are available at 6 the lions better draft one of them.
-
now he needs to stick.
