not sure why lindstrom needs to come back. goalie signings are bridges to cossa (hopefully). others are depth. sprong is a good gamble for offense.
-
depth signings to get us to the salary floor.

roll over that cap space and have $60 million plus next year so we can.... watch everyone sign extensions before they hit the market. 😞

the vrana saga is puzzling. trading hronek for two top picks at the peak of his value was a good deal, imo. my question is why spend so much last year rather than ride it out again, get a better pick, and continue to build up the system? with THAT said, as ive said before, if bert were healthy and vrana sober, this team might have snuck up on the 8th seed.

friedman: "debrincat to detroit doesnt seem to be a match." poor tater.

why? is this part of a larger deal?

i'm seeking a date with salma hayek.

another example about how stupid it is to rely on james harden. i know daryl morey is supposed to be some kind of genius, but his love affair with james haeden makes me question the formulas in his spreadsheets.

they wanted the other guy cause he has SIZE.

josh norris played 8 games last year. debrincat played with shane pinto or claude giroux.

cleveland is big and cant skate. but again, big. and nasty. we've seen this team get pushed around for years now. yzerman wants bigger, stronger guys with an edge and maximum compete. i assume that's what cleveland is. i assume that's what this whole draft was considering how many defensemen they took. i dont like drafting goalies high. second round was ok for the guy they took this year considering they had three picks there, but to be honest i'm not sure i like this draft for the wings outside of round one. then again, i dont have any expertise with hockey drafts (as opposed to the nfl where i am all over it, lol). i'll trust the yzerplan no matter what. it worked in tampa and it can work here too

you know the team yzerman wants to build: big on defense, focus on defense. as everyone has pointed out, you still need to score goals. i'm hoping raymond develops into that type of player or that we kind find that guy either through trade or free agency (debrincat maybe). yamamoto is a nice 3rd or 4th line player but he's just more depth. the defense is on its way, imo. theyre bigger, longer, and stronger (except for asp but he's a nasty kid who moves the puck). an im not saying anything we dont already know about the forwards. i still think this is building up to be a "roll 4 lines" team with a big defense who puts pucks on the net and suffocates the other team with physical play. we just need one of lombardi, mazur, or raymond to really break out as "that guy" and they can be a solid playoff team in a couple years, imo. then we can all watch the hawks win multiple stanley cups again. 😞

i thought he had a clause in his contract that he if the team did not offer him a contract an opted to take him to arbitration the agreed upon number would be $9 million for this year. then he becomes a udfa next year. ottawa exercised that clause, i believe. but dont quote me on that.

this. connor is a pipedream. keller in arizona was a pipedream too. i mean, if arizona calls you on seider and says we'll give you a bunch of future picks are you taking it? probably not. neither is arizona and neither is winnipeg.

solid move.

wiseman had plenty of playing time in the lower leagues to see that he's a bad basketball player or needed EXTENSIVE improvement. at least bagley can theoretically shoot from outside.
