  1. we will feed you and need you. we'll scrimp and save...
  2. lotteries also bring more media attention and fan discussion around the sport. another way to keep the product in the news.
  3. maybe the guy is a great interview? he's supposed to be really smart. i'd be disappointed if he goes given how well he performed for most of this season, but that's what happens to good teams. were just not used to the lions having any assistants worth poaching.
  4. i hope that's it! from what i read, he's not exactly setting the world on fire down there.
  5. early 30s with one year of OC experience. this league is nuts.
  6. vrana scratched from his last GR game, so that's going well.
  7. just in case you thought the pistons were in bad shape, the wizards are starting taj gibson tonight. and paying bradley beal $250 million to be hurt.
  8. no, but it did prevent them from being rewarded with the #1 pick! again, i dont like lotteries.
  9. i dont really care about tanking, but i do think its a bit of an issue in the nba where a team like okc "rests" their best players for the last month of the last three seasons.
  10. if you dont think teams in the nhl and nba tank, i direct your attention to the chicago blackhawks this year.
  11. what perception do you mean?
  12. i hate lotteries, but if there ever one sport where it made absolutely no sense, its football. even the bears, thr tankiest tank who ever tanked, were very close to winning 5 or 6 games. look at the texans this year. they won the last game on a two point conversion to lose the #1 pick. no lotteries in football.
  13. i can almost guarantee that michigan donors will pony up for any type of nil fund. stephen ross? come on...
  14. there's an argument not to take young because he will be fragile look tua. too small to take the hits.
  15. there's a legit argument for the bears to take young #1 and deal fields. fields is now on year 3 of his rookie deal and is about to get expensive. that team has so many holes. yes, they have $120 million ij cap space, but they need an entirely new offensive and defensive line. nobody can totally overhaul that in one free agent class. it might be better for them to reset the clock on their rookie qb deal timeline. that said, fields is a dynamic player....he just hasnt really progressed as a passer. not that he hasnt improved a bit, but that seems more to me because the offensive scheme is better. no more matt nagy. otoh, the scheme is better because theyre running fields more, which is going to get him killed. the passing opened up because he's been running or because theyve called plays to get them open, not because fields has improved as a passer. he still holds the ball too long just like he did in college. but what do you get for fields? if they think theyre going to get multiple first rounders for fields i think theyre in for a surprise.
  16. if they have cade, victor/scoot, ivey, tons of cap space, and STILL are terrible? that would be cause to examine weaver. i've never been the biggest fan, but i liked the killian, ivey, duren, and cade picks. some of the rest of the moves ive thought were highly questionable, but those picks are the most important ones. stewart and bey are role players are best and about to become expensive. are they really foundational pieces? i dont think so. the positive news is that killian has been playing better. the next step for weaver is to get rid of casey after they get another top 3 pick. if he does that, i'll feel better about him.
  17. i dont think the raiders will tear anything down, mcdaniels was juat hired.
  18. i think he wants to go the nfl or he wouldnt be interviewing.
  19. i want aaron glenn to get a job so the lions get a draft pick.
  20. if johnson does leave, i trust dan campbell to find a good replacement.
  21. he must be good to the beat writers because no one seems to say a bad word about him.
  22. cade being out kind of insulates him. that and the fact that nobody cares about the pistons right now. if cade were playing poorly he might be feeling it a bit. if theyre still terrible next year, then i suspect the heat will come.
  23. he interviewed for the broncos job already.
  24. it was also a close game throughout and the packers were win and in. as for the future, the lions have some good matchups with top/popular teams next season: chiefs, broncos, raiders, packers, bears. one would think that one of those becomes the tgiving game and a few more get prime time treatment.
