  1. do not overpay for jamaal williams.
  2. realistic wish list at 6: anderson carter gonzalez wilson witherspoon
  3. i'd take carter.
  4. that actually makes sense.
  5. i'm still dreaming of will anderson or jalen carter at 6. if jalen carter somehow fell to 18 (or even near 18) you have to take him. this is the equivalent of warren sapp or randy moss. he's a physical monster at your #1 or 2 position of need.
  6. bryce young is probably 180 soaking wet at his actual playing weight.
  7. what did the eagles supposedly want at 6 to trade two first round picks for?
  8. maybe so. and it looks like carolina is all in for cj stroud. speaking of which, here is mike tanier on cj stroud: "An interesting median comparison for Stroud, with his pocket touch/timing and habit of getting antsy in a collapsing pocket: Highly Mobile Jared Goff. If you think about it, a dual-threat version of Goff would be one heck of a quarterback."
  9. i think carolina could be a decent team next year with bryce young at qb. solid running game (ask the lions), good defense, bad division. they can win 9 or 10 games with young. then again, they better have a decent backup, lol. anybody want to deal a 6th round pick for matt corral? we have two of them...
  10. noted strong armed qb tua tagovailoa right behind goff. all qbs can complete passes over 40 yards. it says nothing of arm strength or whether its actually a strength in their game. goff has nfl qb arm strength, but he doesnt have a powerful arm like someone like stafford or herbert or mahomes. but that's ok, you dont need that if you can find an open man downfield and accurately throw the ball to him.
  11. that doesnt seem like "big time compensation" to me. i thought they'd get more to go all the way down to 9, tbh.
  12. i'll be depresses when they pick 5th
  13. brugler's recent mock had the bears trading down twice which makes me vomit because its a smart thing for them to do.
  14. they may OBTAIN draft capital, but they dont have a lot of it right now. as you say, they traded a prime pick for chase freaking claypool, who was terrible for them. they have mountains of cap space and could be a recipticle for teams needing to cut decent aging players for cap space, like deandre hopkins or mike evans.
  15. and? you dont talk up goff? even before the season you were talking him up. come on man. own it. youre goff's biggest fan. which is cool and all, but dont act like you dont do it. every time someone questions goff you post a bunch of other people's tweets about how great goff is.
  16. all you do is talk about how awesome goff is and how it would be crazy to think about alternatives.
  17. i dont know man, i read this site and i think people think goff is the best qb in the league and better than a healthy lamar. but like you said, the risk of multiple #1s and $50 million a year GUARANTEED is waaaaay too risky. do people want to give goff $45 million a year? because that's what an extension will cost. which is why i think the plan always was to draft a qb this year and let him sit for a year or two behind goff. then you have three years of below market cost for a qb left. but i could be wrong, holmes seems to like goff a lot.
  18. if they traded for lamar they likely wouldnt have 18...
  19. i think its much more likely that brad holmes drafts a qb at 6 than he trades two #1s for lamar jackson. and i dont think its that likely he takes a qb at 6 (because richardson will be off the board).
  20. ben johnson. goff was complete shit in the pocket last year. how many times did we see goff turn his back to the rush last year and run backwards? this year? maybe he's "more comfortable in the offense"? whatever narrative people want to throw out there, but to me its ben johnson. thats my narrative. 🙂
  21. i would expect lamar to be more productive under johnson than he has been lately. i do not want the lions to trade for lamar. i do not want the lions to sign lamar. i havent seen anyone here advocate for that, but i could have missed it. but lamar has more upside as a player than jared goff.
  22. how do you know you can get more wins with goff than jackson? we dont. you've seen what ben johnson did with goff, what could he do with lamar? i dont know. and again, i dont want to trade for lamar jackson, but the idea that goff played 8 great games last year means we never need to think about upgrading the qb position is short sighted, imo. lamar is too expensive and too much of a health risk for this team to do that.
  23. goff's best year is not close to lamar's best year. goff's best year is about the same as lamar's follow up year. i dont think you would disagree with that. jared goff was not a good qb his last year in LA and his first year with detroit. lamar jackson was not a good qb this year and hasnt come close to the heights of 2019 since then. ben johnson revived jared goff's career, what could he do with lamar jackson's?
  24. the lions defense was much better when he was healthy. he set up hutchinson a lot. was really good on stunts.
