  1. i dont know how as a sports fan you dont find the last two days of this world cup absolutely riveting.
  2. he's a young man who made a mistake that resulted in no harm to anyone. its a nothingburger. young people make mistakes. it happens. he didnt beat the shit out of somebody. he didnt threaten anyone physically. the only physical damage he's caused is to the mental well being of every person in the state of ohio by whoopong their asses last saturday, and quite frankly, he should be rewarded for that and not punished.
  3. this is a big nothingburger. that said, michigan's holier than thou attitude never helps it in these situations. they come off like hypocrites.
  4. he sure does. but with another team and not the lions. 😞
  5. i dont expect lebron to comment on every bad situation on the planet, and if he has his pet causes he cares about more than others, that's perfectly fine. but when you make a point to mock and call out other people as ignorant and then openly seek to ruin people's careers like that cop in ohio, then you make yourself fair game for whataboutism.
  6. meh. dont care.
  7. no, the option belongs to the tigers (unless it vests by him getting mvp votes, which it wont). the tigers have the option of paying him $32 million in 2024 OR paying him $8 million not to play for them.
  8. unless the team picking #1 needs a qb. then they'll never trade the pick.
  9. he can toil away in obscurity and sleep on a big pile of money.
  10. im not counting out melifonwu....but im certainly not counting him IN either. he's done nothing but be hurt and wasnt real effective when he did play. they cant all be winners.
  11. adios mexico!!! it didnt happen, but seeing mexico eliminated because theyre a bunch of dirty players would have been the chef's kiss to this world cup.
  12. defending al avila as the hill you choose to die on is an interesting decision.
  13. oh messi. messi, messi, messi.
  14. you have no idea...
  15. brugler new mock has us with jalen carter at 3 (passing on stroud who went 5) and joey porter at 13 (passing on levis who went 14).
  16. i'd be really really surprised if any team signs williams as a #1 back. teams would rather take a chance on swift than williams.
  17. pulisic's goal? it was clearly onside. not sure what angle you were looking at.
  18. i think that's probably overrating touchdowns. but i dont know. i just think that's way too much for a rb who isnt a game breaking, field stretching nightmare. its really a shame swift is a pansy, cause he's such a great weapon for those seven or eight plays a year he isnt injured. i actually think the lions will take a running back this year because williams is a free agent and swift has hangnail issues.
  19. they gave up 60 points to south carolina. that had nothing to do with their qb.
  20. the pistons. THAT'S how ugly the pistons are playing right now. they make clyde look like he's still fashionable.
  21. i'm shaking my fist at a cloud as we speak.
  22. i remember stories about denny mcclain grooving a ball to an ancient mickey mantle who could barely hobble around the bases, much less play first base. people still talk about it and write stories about it. were people at the time clamoring for tony solaita or andy kosko and pissed the mick was blocking them? i'll take the half chance of seeing miggy do something cool. youre not going to tell your grandkids you saw willie castro hit a triple in a 6-2 loss in another meaningless september, but you might tell them about the time you saw the great cabrera hit one out just one last time.
  23. you can be bitter and upset about miggy being on the team, but i dont see the point in getting upset because an all time great in his last season is supposedly preventing some average player or below average lottery ticket from getting at bats. yes, i am old and crotchety and dont like "young people", why do you ask?
  24. i dont think williams is going to get a big contract offer from anyone and the lions should not be the team to give him one. williams is a nice bruising back. he's a product of the lions having a good offensive line and a good play caller more than any real world beating ability. re-sign? sure. for something similar that he has now. anything more and he's free to go. plenty of bruising backs out there to play his role.
