  1. aaron glenn will be a head coach soon. duce staley is heading that way too.
  2. caldwell is also in his 60s.
  3. morris was a failure as a head coach already. caldwell has failed twice. bienemy had so much legal trouble in colorado he was banned by the city of boulder. duis, assaukts on women, you name it. dude has a long past to get by, which is why he probably hasnt been hired yet.
  4. who should they hire?
  5. i dont think swift is a #1 running back. he's a good third down back. a good change of pace guy, but he's not a guy you gice the ball to 25 times a game. that said, you dont need a guy you give the ball to 25 times a game anymore. the lions need a big upgrade at so many positions. qb and wr being the two biggest on offense. getting another play making rb would be good too. and, not to be a downer, but hockenson isnt anything special at tight end. he's not gronk, kelce, or kittle. he doesnt block well and he doesnt make big plays down the field. he's dalton schultz except we took him in round 1 instead of round 8. if there's an athletic freak really raw tight end prospect in round 6, the lions should consider it. on defense they have to upgrade the secondary and linebacker for sure. we drafted two dts last year and mcneill played well, but levi did not. jury is still out on him. they really need to get some speed at corner or safety. you can bring back walker but dont overpay. the idea of okudah being a top corner might be done. will okwara come back healthy from the achilles? so many question marks. they could still use another defensive tackle, end, corner, safety and linebacker. ideally, if there is no qb worth taking in round one, you'd like to see them get at least one wr, defensive end, and linebacker for sure. then take your best athletes at other positions. hutchinson/thibs or jermaine johnson if you want to wait or trade down burke/olave/meetchie/pickens. tons of wide receivers to choose from. hill/brisker/gardner if he falls.
  6. harbaugh also has an nfl rep of being hard to work with. some people might not want to deal with that.
  7. if he signs that big ass extension theyre offering him they will. i think he's gone regardless.
  8. at this point its obvious he wants to leave, let him leave. miami will take him if the vikings pass.
  9. hell. no. never ever ever. not looking forward to punting on 4th and inches at the other team's 39 yard line.
  10. i guess you call fickell. but i like this staff harbaugh put together. i wouldnt want to lose most of them.
  11. he might need to move back from sweden to do that. not sure if he wants that.
  12. how many years did marvin lewis lose playoff games in cincinnati? pete carroll was 10-6, 9-7, and 8-8 with the pats and got fired. it happens, the nfl is a cut throat business. otoh, there ARE currently a lack of black head coaches in the nfl. why? i dont know. there have been plenty in the past and there are plenty of candidates in the pipeline. i think the nfl has done some things to help that process along, including offering incentives to teams to develop black coaches through draft pick awards and requiring teams to interview black head coaches. that's a positive for the nfl.
  13. what subjects are you a little less left on?
  14. the filing of this lawsuit is exhibit a that he is hard to work with. if youre an owner of a team (or any organization), would you hire a guy that wont listen to you and doesnt do what you want? who filed a class action lawsuit against you the minute he got canned and while he's interviewing for other jobs? think about your own work experience. we've all worked with people who complain and say everything is always someone else's fault. working with an owner is part of the deal when you get hired. you kinda have to do what the boss wants.
  15. its a purported class action. who else is joining the class? how can they certify it? i dont understand the premise of the suit unless he's claiming the dolphins fired him because he's black. which will be really hard to prove. the nfl will settle and make more promises. pay off flores' lawyers. maybe give him a cushy job in the nfl as head of diversity and inclusion practices or something like that.
  16. i would assume its gattis. they have a lot of up and coming young assistants in the pipeline too.
  17. i love the idea that white coaches are somehow given a bunch of leeway in the nfl now. that the giants just said, "you know what? joe judge is bad, but he's white so were gonna keep him." all coaches are fired very quickly in the nfl nowadays. black and white. and very few are re-hired after they fail.
  18. i dont know. he'll take the money. mcs, i do this for a living. its all about the money. especially for the attorneys who just got themselves a hundree million dollars.
  19. they will be. its all about the money, mcs. it always is.
  20. why is anderson's victims "just a start"? they and their lawyers got $500 million. that sounds like an awfully nice finish to me.
  21. war rewards durability, not surprising. and he played a good shortstop. he made the all star game every year of his career for god's sake, no matter whether he deserved it or not. i'll take gerhringer over ripken. from age 24-37 gehringer never had an ops+ below 100. ripken did five times. i might take scott rolen too. more consistent than ripken and a better fielder.
  22. kilian didnt make the rising stars game?
