  1. i said the vaccines do not stop omicron from spreading. that's true. they do lessen the amount of hospitalizations. so i do know the facts. not sure why youre going after me.
  2. not only that, but the vaccines do not stop the spread of omicron. so why do we have mandates that you have to be vaccinated before going into a restaurant? much less enter a country like canada has. not to mention the silliness of forcing people to wear a mask when entering a restaurant, but not when sitting down to eat. silly theater.
  3. the broncos are for sale. if you have $4 billion lying around.
  4. its all about how much risk youre willing to tolerate. canada has a much lower risk tolerance than we do and you seem to have a lower risk tolerance than me. perfectly understandable and, like you said, we'll agree to disagree.
  5. i would agree that it used to be worse and i would argue that the measures the leagues have put into place that everyone is mad about have actually done a lot to make sure it gets better! should we go back to the glory days of the yankees winning every year? no salary caps. no draft. but nobody was intentionally tanking for draft position so it was all good.
  6. i would much rather have the us approach than the canadian approach. the canadian approach is overkill, imo. denmark has ended all restrictions despite having a lot of cases.
  7. i am arguing no such thing. i do think that the scenario in my extended family is fairly common.
  8. i think what the chinese did was too extreme, period. but its not my culture.
  9. its extremely disconnected from real life. a bunch of smart people who took econ in college ranting about incentives and rewards.
  10. my pro-vax mother in law got covid, had a bad cold for two days, then immediately went back to work. lives in a house with a 90 year old and a teenager who went to school every day and a daughter who works for the cdc. everyone is fine.
  11. are you saying you'd rather have the chinese method of welding people inside their homes in order to stop a virus that 98-99% of the people who get it survive? really? and the chinese are likely lying their collectice asses off about how many people there have died of covid.
  12. all teams want to win. luck and bad leadership often prevent that. oftentimes teams realize they do not have the resources to win in an individual season so they make long term plans to establish a base to win in the future. sometimes those plans dont succeed because they are competing against other teams who also want to win. welcome to sports, fellas. not sure when we had this magical time when all teams were competing at the same level every season.
  13. america's socialized sports will never agree to actual pain for ownership. and all this talk of punishing owners for their teams losing is funny. why dont you all just root for a different team if you dont like what yours is doing? lol.
  14. what is 5/100k mean?
  15. typical selfish boomer.
  16. not to go completely off topic, but i cant stand "princess" diana. almost as bad as meghan markle.
  17. so when do we end mask mandates, when covid is completely gone? like 0% covid?
  18. first you quoted masks for why indiana is marginally worse than similar states in cases per 100k, then you quoted vax rates as why indiana is marginally worse. all i did was point out based on your criteria that indiana is actually doing better in cases per 100k (which - again - was the measurement that you brought up) than states that have mask mandates and higher vax percentages. i'm just using your own criteria. you just keep moving the goal posts whenever your original point gets undermined by the same statistics you used to make it. we get your point. republicans are stoopid.
  19. its all about risk tolerance at this point. as long as the hospitals arent overwhelmed - and they are not in almost every place - then life should be moving along back to normal as soon as possible. at what point does the mask mandate end? zero covid? at what point do we treat this as a severe flu and get on with our lives?
  20. washington vax rate: 70% california: 69% oregon 68% minnesota 67% all with mask mandates. all with higher covid rates than indiana. so im not sure what point youre trying to prove. covid spreads for all sorts of reasons and the mitigation efforts, while sometimes admirable, are oftentimes not that effective. urban v rural, pop density, remote work v factory work, probably have much more effect than a mask mandate.
  21. california, oregon, washington, and minnesota all have mask mandates and have a higher % of cases than indiana. again, perhaps there are other reasons than mask mandates as to how and why a virus spreads? harping on mask mandates to show how indiana is teh stoopidest is silly.
  22. it doesnt really effect kids, so im not worried about it with mine. they have to wear masks at school, other than that they dont. the kids go to sleepovers at other kids' houses, they go on play dates. everyone is fine.
