dan campbell: coach of the year. if THIS collection of has beens and never wuzzes on defense can win the nfc, it should go down as one of the greatest coaching exhibitions in nfl history. -

this reminds me of the 2012 and 2013 tigers. everything was set up for them and then cabrera got hurt and it all fell apart. -
i think that's lip service. all the teams he supposedly has on his list are glamour teams that someone who looks at mlb from afar would think are quality clubs: dodgers, mets, yankees, giants, cubs. throw in the west coast clubs and you get an idea where he's going. like you, i thought that if he was ACTUALLY concerned about development he would consider a club like detroit, but i would be shocked if that,'s the case. i suspect he ends up in new york or california because those are the destinations that foreigners see as "the best." i equate it to soccer, players see the big clubs like barca and madrid as status symbols for having "made it big." they think the same in baseball. counterpoint" shohei ends up with the ANGELS, lol. but i still have hope that youre right and he ultimately does consider the upstart club from the rust belt with a recent history of developing pitchers. heck, we can even guarantee that we'll deal him to a major market in 3 years! just give us a shot!

in true lions fashion, this year really really hurts. the best lions team of ALL of our lifetimes is crippled by injury. it makes me so sad i dont even like to think about it. it hurts. if they still win it will be the greatest championship in the history of michigan sports and i'll be rooting for it. but i just dont see it. -
i agree! but it wont happen. schools arent going to give up that sweet sweet guaranteed money and tv networks dont pay for arizona indiana just because one of them had a fluke season the year before. of the top 25 most watched ncaa games this year only ONE didnt involve at least one big ten or sec team: the big 12 championship game, which averaged slightly more viewers than michigan-usc. the other 24 games involved sec or big ten schools and one notre dame game (against sec texas a & m). the networks dont want clemson-smu, they want michigan-notre dame. and they're paying billions to get it. and they will eventually get it.

you are really searching for silver linings. i get it, but...come on man. this is not the same team they've had for a majority of the season. its not a championship defense. -

the bears - THE BEARS - took a punter in round 4 last year. 🤣 -

they can beat atlanta and/or washington. the packers at home is a toss up. they should be an underdog against any other nfc playoff team. if we play atlanta we have a shot. that's about it. they desperately need that bye. beating minny next week is an imperative if they want to win. i dont like them on the road againdt any team other than atlanta. -
let us all keep rooting for the bulls to win and thus lose their first round pick this year and throw their "rebuild" rightfully in the garbage where it belongs. they desperately WANT to lose to keep that pick (traded in the derozan deal that brought them a couple of play in game losses and one playoff win over milwaukee who then woke up and won 3 straight) but they cant even do that right. the pistons are a garbage franchise but at least they have cade. the bulls are the epitome of tom gores/van gundy era pistons: desperate for that 8th seed. unfortunately, the league wants the bulls to succeed so they get lottery luck (hello bulls going from #9 to #1 to get derrick rose) unlike detroit, who the league could give two squirts of piss about.

you still think this is a super bowl caliber team? -

you cant expect them to compete when half the defense WASNT EVEN IN THE LEAGUE a week ago. the fact that they are 13-2 is a testament to the coaching staff and the offense. the defense isnt an nfl caliber team. its a dam shame that it has to end this way, but no team can survive what the lions have gone through this year. -
they can throw the lawyers at it to delay it, but i think its inevitable. and the more the boise state's, smu's, and arizona state's make the playoff and the alabama's and south carolina's dont, it just gives the sec/big ten more inventive to leave. they ALONE drive the tv contracts and the money. all the big tv games are sec/big ten with the occasional notre dame or a hyped story like deion at colorado. that's it. nobody pays to watch byu or uconn unless they are playing michigan or alabama. its tough foe those schools, but its a money game now. the real question is whether northwestern or purdue or vanderbilt or mississippi state survive the reckoning that's coming. rutgers? why? ohio state, penn state, michigan, michigan state, nebraska, wisconsin, iowa, notre dame, indiana, minnesota, usc, ucla, oregon, washington, maryland, virginia, boston college, syracuse alabama, georgia, florida, florida state, miami, north carolina, south carolina, tennessee, texas, oklahoma, auburn, ole miss, clemson, miami, texas a & m, kentucky, arkansas, missouri 18 team conferences divided into 4 or 5 divisions. winner plays the "super bowl"!

a thousand times this. that's what he was SUPPOSED to be. that's why a 6'6 guy gets drafted #9. and he's played like it for MAYBE 20 games two years ago. since then, nothing. he's just an ordinary nhl player but tall. not physical. not imposing. nothing. he must be a really nice guy because none of the beat writers ever call him out. not even bultman (the best of the bunch).
-
what's the legal argument against it if they want to leave the ncaa and form their own entity? monopoly? how? all ghe other leagues can still play. just no one will watch.
-
the big ten and sec have the leverage of "we will leave and form our own league." i dont think they are at the point of USING that type of leverage, but that is the ultimate leverage.
-
we should hire someone from their staff!
-
that actually makes sense. so it probably wont happen.
-
exactly. you dont have to be bob probert (tough guy with skill) but at least be tougher than rasmussen.
-
looking at what the caps did this offseason as far as free agents and seeing what the wings did leaves a lot to be desired.

he might be one of the best athletes in the league. i remember watching him smother zack lavine early in his career. not many people can do that.
