  1. it just mean either we or someone else will trade up for a qb. hopefully more than one will emerge. howell, corral, and willis seem to be the three top names at the moment.
  2. poor lions. somehow they will win a game or two at the end of the year and end up picking 5th.
  3. no, from what i read he did not get part of the team.
  4. i'm worried about the lack of athleticism. i would say lack of elite athleticism, but i'm not sure this team has any middling nba athleticism, much less elite. summer league is just a big pickup game, but you could see it on display there too. they were getting killed by teams who have athletic wings who can shoot. the pistons have no big time athletes. none. cade isnt one either. you can get by in the nba without them, but its difficult. cade will need to be everything he was cracked up to be and more. i dont think killian has improved one bit. doesnt seem like it. he needs to penetrate and get into the paint for people to get pulled out of position so he can pass the ball (the one thing he's been good at). but nobody will respect him if he just fades away in the paint every time and refuses to initiate contact. and if he's not athletic enough to get to the rim....well.... its only one game and without their top rookie. that said, i'm beginning to have my doubts on how troy weaver has constructed the team. but hey, at least we have rodney macgruder on the squad. i hear he knew troy back in the day and he's great in the locker room. who else have we stretched and waived today? trade any more picks to dump overpays yet?
  5. this team is not one of the really good ones.
  6. gruden has plenty of money. and barstool or one of those outfits could make a killing with him doing spots with them.
  7. i cant see this game, but the box score sure doesnt look good!
  8. he'll just get hurt again. why pay an average reliever that kind of money? seems excessive.
  9. $5 million seems like a lot for fullmer.
  10. miami botched their rebuild by drafting tua.
  11. i mean honestly, you were right. what the team desperately needs is shane wright. or a player like him. for all their drafting in the top ten, they dont have that "special" player. i think they'll end up in the bottom six again, there's just not a lot of high end talent. but they'll be better on the power play, so that should net some more points. i want to see the kids play. i want to see raymond and seider even though i know its going to be really rough. i want to see zadina score goals. as has been noted here before, too many first round misses by holland: ras, cholowski, and its looking more and more like zadina and veleno will be nothing special either. thats just killer.
  12. raymond makes the team. veleno sent to GR.
  13. ceephus broke his collarbone. probably out for the year. maybe trinity benson will do something? we gave up draft picks for this guy who was going to get waived and he hasnt been able to get regular playing time with THIS receiver corps. doesnt look like a good trade right now.
  14. do we really need to be the worst team in the league (we wont be) and then watch them drop to #3 again?
  15. we are going to lose so many games.
  16. good. no offense to bobby ryan. he might be still good enough to play in the league (until he inevitably gets hurt again), but the wings need young players to play.
  17. this game means as much to michigan as it does michigan state. this isnt 1970-2012 anymore. if you want to live in "sports radio narrative land", then you can say "michigan always plays with a chip on its shoulder against state the year after they lose to state."
  18. no team in the nfl has a decent back up qb. what would be the point? in the salary cap era, there are only so many resources to go around. you dont waste those on a guy who isnt going to play. remember when the lions signed chase daniel to that ridiculous contract all because they wanted a "decent backup qb in case stafford got hurt"? how did that work out?
  19. how bout they just beat state so we dont have to worry about it?
  20. i dont know what i had them at. probably not 9 wins after last year.
  21. the good part about the game was that when they did throw the ball, it seemed like the lions were doing well in coverage. theilen had nothing all game. jefferson had some catches but osborne had nothing and the lions were getting what looked to be some coverage pressures.
  22. and in case you're wondering, this iteration of the lions have now lost 9 straight. long way to go to reach the bucs but, gosh darnit, with a little gumption these boys just might do it!
  23. the jags have now lost 20 straight games and passed the lions, moving into second place on the all time "losses in a row" standings. they trail only the expansion bucs who once lost 24 straight.
