  1. if so, the lions will be trading their #1 pick this year, the rams #1 pick this year or next, and a third rounder to go up and get him.
  2. i doubt 3/4 of the players on that team remember michigan state when they were 9 or 10. especially the ones from out of state. people outside the state of michigan dont pay attention to the things coaches do or say in college football rivalries.
  3. i'm not deflecting anything. i think people get really up in arms when other teams cheat and dont care when their team cheats. ask the 1940 tigers about stealing signs on an institutional level. do you hate the tigers as an organization because they were cheating? the only difference between that team and the astros was the astros had modern technology. i dont excuse the astros. i think they should have been punished and they were. but im not going to hold it against everyone on the team or organization forever. seems silly and nothing but "holier than thou" bs, imo.
  4. larussa didnt care when kenny rogers was cheating in 2006 world series when his buddy jim leyland was managing the tigers... did you?
  5. ok guy who says they still remember some vibe that dantonio supposedly started a decade ago...
  6. no one will trade you anything for killian right now. just like no one would trade anything for sekou.
  7. in fairness to goff, as is also mentioned in that q and a, he has no receivers to throw to. lions have the worst receiver corps in the league by far. otoh, did you see kenny golladay is hurt again? yeah, i was stunned too.
  8. "Depending on what numbers you like most, Jared Goff is somewhere between one of the least explosive quarterbacks in the NFL, and the least explosive quarterback in the NFL. On Sunday, more than half his passes were within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. His completions traveled an average of 2.5 yards, the second-worst game by any quarterback in the NFL this season, trailing only, you guessed it, Jared Goff from Week 3. For the season, his completions are traveling 3.7 yards through the air, which is, yep, you guessed it again, dead last in the league." As i said in a gamethread and was rudely questioned: dink dunk dink dunk. goff will not throw downfield. maybe he used to, but he doesnt now and that's why the rams benched him and got rid of him.
  9. they beat teams by trying harder last year. if they can keep up the same intensity this year they'll win 25 games because other teams wont care. but i cant see much more than that unless cade is amazing. and i think they will spending the last month of they year in full tank mode. i would expect to see cade's season ending early.
  10. i dont expect them to beat any of those teams. the only two teams on that list i expect them to be better than are orlando and maybe cleveland. detroit is no better than any other team in the league. i'm really down on this team. i dont think they're constructed well and killian is looking more and more like a big miss every day. bey and stewart are nice role players. i think grant is overrated locally. i'm not sure what else they have? cade better be luka 2.0.
  11. nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah hey hey hey sox suck! bye bye losers. have fun going back to sweeping floors tomorrow!
  12. it just mean either we or someone else will trade up for a qb. hopefully more than one will emerge. howell, corral, and willis seem to be the three top names at the moment.
  13. poor lions. somehow they will win a game or two at the end of the year and end up picking 5th.
  14. no, from what i read he did not get part of the team.
  15. i'm worried about the lack of athleticism. i would say lack of elite athleticism, but i'm not sure this team has any middling nba athleticism, much less elite. summer league is just a big pickup game, but you could see it on display there too. they were getting killed by teams who have athletic wings who can shoot. the pistons have no big time athletes. none. cade isnt one either. you can get by in the nba without them, but its difficult. cade will need to be everything he was cracked up to be and more. i dont think killian has improved one bit. doesnt seem like it. he needs to penetrate and get into the paint for people to get pulled out of position so he can pass the ball (the one thing he's been good at). but nobody will respect him if he just fades away in the paint every time and refuses to initiate contact. and if he's not athletic enough to get to the rim....well.... its only one game and without their top rookie. that said, i'm beginning to have my doubts on how troy weaver has constructed the team. but hey, at least we have rodney macgruder on the squad. i hear he knew troy back in the day and he's great in the locker room. who else have we stretched and waived today? trade any more picks to dump overpays yet?
  16. this team is not one of the really good ones.
  17. gruden has plenty of money. and barstool or one of those outfits could make a killing with him doing spots with them.
  18. i cant see this game, but the box score sure doesnt look good!
  19. he'll just get hurt again. why pay an average reliever that kind of money? seems excessive.
  20. $5 million seems like a lot for fullmer.
  21. miami botched their rebuild by drafting tua.
  22. i mean honestly, you were right. what the team desperately needs is shane wright. or a player like him. for all their drafting in the top ten, they dont have that "special" player. i think they'll end up in the bottom six again, there's just not a lot of high end talent. but they'll be better on the power play, so that should net some more points. i want to see the kids play. i want to see raymond and seider even though i know its going to be really rough. i want to see zadina score goals. as has been noted here before, too many first round misses by holland: ras, cholowski, and its looking more and more like zadina and veleno will be nothing special either. thats just killer.
  23. raymond makes the team. veleno sent to GR.
  24. ceephus broke his collarbone. probably out for the year. maybe trinity benson will do something? we gave up draft picks for this guy who was going to get waived and he hasnt been able to get regular playing time with THIS receiver corps. doesnt look like a good trade right now.
