  1. espn +. its amazing. great picture and you get every single out of market game.
  2. i'm pretty sure management has seen all they need to see from jared goff. he's not a good nfl qb and hasnt been one for a long time. he was propped up in LA by a great offensive coach, a good nfl line, and todd gurley in his mvp caliber prime. as soon as gurley regressed, goff went from serviceable to bad. now he's been placed in an awful position. he's bad and he doesnt have any weapons around him to be the best he could be, which is "average." trading assets to bring in a middling receiver that another team doesnt want would be dumb for a team going nowhere who needs all the future assets it can get. the benson trade was bad enough, lets not double down on that mistake.
  3. they're going to get waxed by the bulls too.
  4. i dont think so. ohio state is one of the most professional teams in college football, to the point where justin fields admitted he'd never actually been on campus, and they always get up for michigan. theyre still kids and stuff like that still matters to most of them. i have no knowledge if thats actually true, but it seems like it to me.
  5. i wonder if he skates well enough to play in the nhl? can he be like a bigger holmstrom who you just plug in front of the net on the power play? can he do anything else?
  6. indiana and nebraska both severely outplayed michigan state. this is a rivalry game, so throw it all out the window. and the transitive property doesnt work in college football, but michigan has been the more impressive team this season. just beat northwestern, then we can worry about msu.
  7. tucker should leave now before they play michigan, ohio state, and penn state.
  8. but if you get the qb wrong, you're usually stuck for the next four years (ask the bears). unless you get it SO wrong, you're picking #1 again next year and have the balls yo admit you screwed up the last pick -which usually requires the last regime being fired first (ask the cardinals). i dont want to take a qb just to take one when this team has so many needs and the draft has some really good prospects at those positions of need (linebacker, cornerback, defensive end). and what they need almost as much as a qb is a big time receiver. i'd rather get a olave or a dotsun with the rams pick than chase a qb who is falling.
  9. i'd be worried about thibodeaux staying healthy, but if he is, he is what the lions need: an athletic freak, quick twitch pass rusher. hutchinson seems like a guy who will be a really good player, but isnt that type of uber athlete the lions just dont have. more solid than spectacular.
  10. they already traded assets for benson and have benched him. why give up more assets for the lost cause of this season? no thanks.
  11. he'll be here next year. just like seider. one year in sweden and then come over. dekyser will be gone. leddy will be gone. staal will be gone. they'll need defensemen.
  12. the eagles have hurts plus three first round picks. the giants will have a couple too. dolphins. the lions have no way to absorb watson's cap hit plus they dont have any kind of team around him. i think the odds of the lions trading for him are infintessimally small.
  13. 99% incompetence.
  14. we'll see how the process plays out but right now none of the qb prospects seem to be that great or worthy of the #1 pick.
  15. do we wait for cj stroud?
  16. looks like cade may not play the season opener either. is this going to be a season long thing? how long does it take to heal a sprained ankle?
  17. stanley johnson waived by the bulls. one more time: fuck off stan van gundy.
  18. and holmes was on the staff that traded multiple picks for jared goff. more ominously, he was also on the staff that picked greg robinson #2. but no one knows what input he had there. other than sewell, the lions draft picks have looked pretty good so far to my untrained eye. and sewell has had him moments too. it hasnt all been bad. and - as campbell pointed out today - the oline isnt being helped by goff not getting the ball out and dropping too deep in the pocket. goff is playing scared and its killing them.
  19. lions open as 16 point underdogs in LA. i bet it gets up to 17.5.
  20. the picks were always going to be close to the bottom if round one. they're still pretty valuable. but to make the trade they had to take goff. look, the lions are tanking on purpose, goff is the PERFECT qb for that. this year and next.
  21. vikings just drove down the field against carolina in a tie game. carolina rushed 4 the entire time. didnt matter. then they missed a 47 yard field goal as time expired that would have won the game. poor lions. they just cant buy a break this year.
  22. i know bertuzzi comes with unnecessary distractions about vaccinations and his back issues, but i dont really want to trade him. he's really good. if they do trade him, they better get a haul.
  23. it will all be complete when we add shane wright next year.
  24. i dont think so. a lot of their assistants have. most famously a couple of guys names shula and belicheck.
