the last time the lions bottomed out they went from 0-16 to 2-14 to 6-10. i suspect this is our equivalent of 0-16 and i think next year will be our 2-14 season. too many misses from quinn and a roster full of ordinary players. as for a qb, you just cant miss if you take one in round one. if they really think a pickett, or ridder or willis is worthy of a #1 pick, then by all means do it. but as of right now, it doesnt seem like anyone thinks that way. while we are early in the process, you usually start to hear a lot if hype by this point about top qb prospects being in the top pick conversations and youre just not hearing it this year.

hockenson has been hurt and hasnt been that open, gets little separation, falls down when hit and doesnt make any big plays. he still seems like a good player who was overdrafted, imo. do you take a possession tight end in the top 10? i guess that's more of a criticism of quinn's talent acquisition process. ragnow is great but he's a center. hockenson is a nice possession receiver. flowers is a solid edge setting run defender. where are the playmakers or difference makers? we dont have any. golladay, i guess. but as were seeing in new york, that might be more to do with stafford than kenny g.

diallo's shot is just ugly, arm is crooked out to the side. it will never be consistent. he's one of the only good nba athletes on the team, but his ceiling will forever be a poor man's tony allen. i assume joseph and macgruder are budding nba locker room presence all stars. hayes has to do a lot of things, but job 1 is getting in the gym and getting stronger. that just requires effort and a plan. cant really tell anything about this team until we see cade. looks god awful right now, but maybe they can reach the dizzying heights of "just awful" that we saw last year? btw, which rebuild style do you prefer: okc or det? teat it all down and accumulate future assets and picks, or tear it all down and acquire middling players and spend draft capital to move them for other middling players? they both seem to be in the same place right now. -
either way rob manfred will be embarrassed handing the trophy to either team, so i feel like i've already won.

a $2 million fine by the league? ouch.

convenient for the hawks as an excuse to get rid of bowman. i'm not saying he shouldnt have been forced out, i'm saying he was doing a bad job and this provides a different reason to let him go other than their poor start, hellish cap situation, and dim future. kinda hurts their stance in the lawsuit. but i guess that's why he "resigned" rather than being let go.

they eat $20 million if they cut goff after next year, i dont think they do it. they also have $20 million wrapped up in flowers too. not to mention what vatai is making to play guard. thanks quinn.

as of right now, i dont want the lions to take a qb at #1 this year. just wait. they can get thibodeaux and then a stud receiver late in the first, that would be perfect. maybe even pick up dax hill or a corner at the top of the second?

colin kapernick wasnt all that great and hasnt played football in about 4 years. i know you want to make a political statement, but if youre an nfl gm, why would you sign him?

illinois is being very aggressive.

i'm taking immunosuppressants and am about to spend two weeks in an oklahoma courtroom. so if i dont make it back, its been a fun ride! 😉

they have similar issues here in illinois but its a little more nuanced. illinois lost a congressional seat, and since the democrats control the state, they will gerrymander a republican seat out of existence (in addition to the other lost seat) so the republicans will be down to only 2 seats in the whole state, maybe 3. which is like, thats us power politics. but where it gets complicated for democrats is that the black population has declined so much and the latino population has grown, now they want another latino rep so theyre making a second latino majority district but to do it they have to take away a black majority district. so now the black caucus is threatening to file a voting rights act case against the illinois democrats for taking away a seat and giving it to latinos. even more interesting is the political fight in chicago to redraw the wards. 18 black alderman and 13 latinos even though there are more latinos in the city than blacks (and more whites than both). its going to be an interesting fight in city council this year.

it's neck and neck right? but with tmac in a slight lead within the margin of error?

david blough is better than joe flacco. not sure why you need a "better" backup. you want to spend money on chase daniels again? how did that go? i mean, if the idea is just to have better players on the roster than sure, but spending money on backup qbs will leave you weaker at depth at other positions. the bears have fields, foles, and dalton. with foles and dalton both making like $10 million. is that what you want?

really???? i swore that was you. alright then, i take it back. i could definitely lick couga though. lol.

you said i wouldn't address you directly in a message board post in a post that you refused to quote me on. weak sauce as usual from mts's sports message board political board's #1 troll. i mean, what kind of guy spends all of his time posting on a sports message board ABOUT POLITICS. do you even follow sports? anyway, check you pms. i'm sure everyone else is tired of us fighting.

i should say "i wasnt trying to be insulting to sue." stan was being insulting, and that's what got him banned.

currently down 23 in the 4th. -
yeah, but he was a special kind of mean. didnt he say insulting things about sue's family member dying? something like that. i thought that's what got him the lifetime ban. as opposed to other posters who just constantly say insulting things, misread everyone's posts, and act like total dicks who just get temporary bans but still talk a lot of shit they would never say to anyone's face.
-
he got banned because he said mean things to you, right? that's what i remember. wasnt trying to be insulting to anyone.
