I think both teams would say no. Detroit would decimate the little center depth they have and Dallas wouldn't have room for Larkin's contract.

I'm guessing Dallas will be looking to offload Marchment, Dumba and Lyubushkin (those last two contracts are oogly). Maybe Steel? Robertson makes sense too since he'll need a decent sized contract soon. They have to plan for Harley's contract too. They probably shouldn't but I bet they re-sign Benn's corpse so I will be watching with a lot of interest.

Damn it Buch got traded to CSKA Moscow, looks like another season in the KHL. Kaprizov and Panarin came over at age 23 so Buch is trending towards that.

You can never have too many goalies in the organization imo, and I'm pretty sure they lost one of their echl guys to going back to Europe. He's young for a goalie and been playing well, seems like a decent shot in the dark.

The more I look at his numbers, the more I feel like if someone does that they are going to regret it. This season was the only time he's ever broken 50 points (51) and it was on a stacked team...

For what it is worth, if you add in the bonuses he hit then what the Wings paid Kane for last season is less than $1 million below what CapWages is estimating Sam Bennett will get per year this offseason: $5.75 million for Kane and $6.637 per year for 6 years for Bennett and the cap do be going up. I'm with G2 on wanting a more rounded player for that kind of cash but I also won't poo poo what Kane does bring if he does re-sign.

Their power play probably gets worse but I'm fine not re-signing Kane as well

True, but luckily MBN is supposed to be a pretty good forechecker! I just hope we find someone somehow that isn't afraid to mix it up a little bit. I'm still annoyed that Utah ran Mrazek and not only was there no call the Wings just shrugged their shoulders and was like well that's life! From what I've seen MBN isn't shy about engaging other players especially when he's fired up.
