  1. Genborg plays the game in a way that should please NHL teams. He’s a rambunctious physical presence, capable of dominating through his strength in the juniors and more than holding his own against grown men in the professional ranks. He hustles hard and throws his weight around on the forecheck, controls the cycle by sealing off pucks and dealing with back pressure and finds ways to win body positioning in the net front. To achieve this, he employs a deep posture and mechanically solid skating stride while also bringing projectable speed. When combined with his dogged determination on the defensive side of the puck, it’s no surprise he was seeing such consistent usage in the SHL this year. But Genborg is more than just your average power forward. He also has some offensive flair to his game. Among all draft eligible skaters in the J20 level this season, it was Genborg who managed the highest goal-scoring pace, averaging 0.68 goals per game across his 28 regular season appearances. A big chunk of his goals came through winning body positioning in the net front for rebounds, deflections and tap-ins, but he’s also got a competent catch-and-release wrister in his arsenal. While he wasn’t as consistent off the rush as off the cycle, there were even some legitimate flashes of dynamism where he humiliated defenders by breaking their ankles and pulling off slick handling moves at the junior level. Realistically, though, Genborg’s NHL projection will mainly come down to his high levels of physicality and two-way commitment, complemented by his potential as a net-front scorer. There are still questions about how much offensive upside he’s going to have at the next level. He’s not the most cerebral player overall, lacks higher-end playmaking instincts and, in many ways, is still raw, even if he’s advanced to the professional ranks quickly. While there will likely be players with higher upside available in his range, Genborg should have a direct path to playing NHL games in a bottom-six role for whatever team drafts him.
  2. Not much to give up I"m into it
  3. Love the pick if he’s the same player after his injury. Achilles stuff scares me though.
  4. Just like it was a coincidence the Islanders got first overall right after they lost the all star game!
  5. Pronman now has us taking Carbonneau and Eklund goes at 17 Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Several 1st round picks in play, especially with clubs with more than one. Pitt will move 11/12 for the right young player. Mtl would move 16/17. Habs need a top 6 F. Philly wants to keep 6, but will trade 22/31. Nashville has 5/23/26 and is still evaluating all options. ESPN mocks Bear to us
  6. I could believe the Rossi and Dobson parts since they're RFA and probably would say no to signing a long term deal in Buffalo but the Kyrou one seems wild
  7. I did not realize Tomas Vanek has a kid in this draft, god I feel old
  8. https://rg.org/news/hockey/jackets-sens-habs-among-teams-eyeing-andersson “The Flames are definitely listening and exploring their options,” the source said. “I’m hearing the Blue Jackets, Red Wings, Canadiens, and Bruins have all looked into Andersson.”
  9. I honestly did not realize the draft is tomorrow, feels like the finals just ended
  10. I think what we miss as fans (me especially) is that there are a lot of considerations outside of merely what the players are on the ice. Like Nill only shopping Marchment to teams with no/low income tax. I'm guessing big parts of this trade were the Sabres didn't want to trade him to a team in the East (which I always find is a very dumb reason to not get the most value back, but we know they at least only shopped Eichel to west teams so this could be true again) and teams would only trade with the Sabres if they could get a long term extension done with Peterka. So the interested teams would have needed to fit that in their cap + have the desire to match his numbers on the contract, and Peterka would have to have wanted to sign there long term. But I also just think the Sabres are a badly run organization, so many guys leave there and seem to shine.
  11. This would be the dream, but I don't think anyone wants Compher unless he has a big bounce back year this season and shows he isn't trending down. I guess you could do a pure cap dump and attach a pick but might as well just run him on line four at that point. Oddly enough it sounds like our old friend Kenny Holland could be looking to send the Kings' first round pick somewhere for a roster player.....they have the 24th OA pick
  12. Huh reading into it more the media seems to think they could get a 1st round pick for Copp because the center market is so bad.....do it and pencil in Danielson I'm in!
  13. Hmmmm I feel like Copp is still pretty valuable to the team I hope they have something else already lined up if they go that route
  14. Wow the Sabres really didn't get much back.......what a bad franchise.
  15. Definitely a salary dump for the Oilers (or maybe Bowman draws the line at criminal activity against women but not men?) as they have ~$15.5 million in cap space with 5 UFA and Bouchard as a RFA this offseason. I also didn't think Kane looked very effective these playoffs.
  16. wow hongbit must have forgotten the mrazek trade!
  17. I would really hate to lose ASP but I'm doing that too, don't think Dallas would but their return for Marchment was pretty low.
  18. Fun fact I reffed Demko when he was in high school down in San Diego! I wouldn't mind rooting for him. They unloaded Hertl to Carolina so it really feels like this is bound to happen, gross. Wonder where they trade Marner in two seasons when he doesn't show up in the playoffs.
  19. It would be pretty sad if your captain stopped playing well because he was upset he didn't play on an all star team, but I guess this is the guy who complained to the press that he didn't get any trade deadline help...
  20. There's a small chance they want next year's pick for offer sheet purposes too, there are a lot of juicy RFAs out there in 2026
  21. Depends who it is for, I'm fine with them using it in a trade if it gets an actual difference maker but I'm skeptical. I'm also fine choosing at 13 it seems like there should be some solid options there.
  22. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/air-of-unpredictability-after-schaefer-and-misa-in-bob-mckenzie-s-draft-ranking-1.2325555 Bob released his rankings.
  23. Ya I was quite shocked at the return, I guess the Ducks really wanted his cap space for free agency. He only has one year left on his contract so I guess most teams didn't want to give a raise to a one dimensional dude who's one dimension hasn't been great for a while. I don't think Tocchet is going to be good for him at all.
