  1. It says a lot that my first reaction here is that Veleno wishes he was a young Glendening and I don’t think much of Glendening lol. We may see Kasper (or someone else) soon enough since it seemed like Fischer left with a serious injury. All the fan punching bags are going down early, Chiarot better watch his back. I thought Johansson looked pretty solid. Made some nice exit passes and played transition defense pretty well. I thought Holl even looked decent. Motte seemed to have a tough game.
  2. Oh no I missed that Chiarot is running the second power play....
  3. Hopefully we'll see them in the big leagues soon Cossa Shutout too, he was the first star I don't hate what I see here from Cleveland, seems like he can skate a bit at his size Allegedly Kiiskinen was a big favorite of the front office's during the draft, intriguing to say the least
  4. Looks like he's in for Gustaffson based on morning skate stuff?
  5. I would rather see what Johansson could do personally. Holl played hard in preseason I'll give him that.... The play where Petry got hurt was straight comedy. He runs into a dude off the faceoff trying to get into position, looked like a shoulder or arm injury. He drops his stick, which somehow deflects the puck straight into the slot onto a Penguins' player's stick for an easy goal. Really was the story of the game with how ugly it was for the Wings.
  6. Wings power play looking pretty good despite not scoring
  7. It's almost time! Let's see if he turns into a pumpkin (or hurts himself) again
  8. Yikes! Hopefully they get those renovations going quickly
  9. I am guessing Watson and Holl are being waved is to accrue salary cap credits while they are "in the minors" to start the season and both will be with the big club to start still. Doubt anyone claims Watson after Holl cleared. I will also guess that Watson is the extra press box forward which we wouldn't have wanted for Kasper....the problem is Berggren and I guess Veleno taking spots that could be there for Kasper. Oh well. I personally don't mind Watson, I thought he looked like a competent penalty killer in the preseason which surprised me, and he also made a nice pass to Motte for an assist. But mostly I hope he can keep the bastards like Brady Tkachuk away from our skilled guys.
  10. Oh no not Petruzelli, I still haven't forgiven him for spurning the Wings and signing with the Leafs 😂 I'm starting to wonder if they try and sneak Husso through waivers due to his cap hit. If someone claims him it gives you some cap space at least... I agree with your calls on Kasper, MBN and Danielson. Kasper has looked pretty dang good and they've used him in a PK role. It feels weird to send MBN back to Sweden, the AHL makes the most sense to get him more used to the NA ice. Danielson looks good but still has stuff to work on, and muscle to add. I wish they could offload Veleno and Berggren to make room for kids and/or Watson.
  11. MBN assist on goal 2. I'm very annoyed I am blacked out because of the NHL Network
  12. I think he's had substance abuse issues in the past, wish him the best
  13. Edvinsson with some bad defensive zone coverage in this first period, woof
  14. Kasper looking good between Kane and Tarasenko so far in my estimation
  15. Edvinsson and Seider are supposedly playing together tonight which will be interesting to see
  16. Box score watchers/analytics nerds are going to claim Seider isn't living up to his billing because he's playing by far the hardest minutes of anyone in the league Not only is he playing against the hardest competition he also starts more shifts in the defensive zone than anyone else. Advanced hockey stats are not very nuanced when it comes to individuals and defending in my opinion. It is going to be next to impossible for anyone to turn his usage into being an analytics darling.
  17. Love that they have him PKing
  18. Intriguing that it is Kasper + all regulars
  19. Absent rigging the draft lottery somehow, I'm not sure what Yzerman should have done differently in his tenure to acquire a superstar. It is tough to rebuild in the NHL and the team + prospect pool was absolutely awful when he took over.
