I know he isn't your prototypical high end guy that is dancing around people, but I do think Michael Brandsegg-Nygård at least has injected some offensive skill into their prospect ranks. His shot is going to play in the NHL and he looks like a beast on the forecheck who likes to hit. I think that skill set will play well in the current NHL on the offensive side because his shot is so good. Other than that it is a lot of projection so I can't disagree with you. They have guys like Plante's playmaking ability that could translate but other than that, not much. I do think Raymond will pick it up again, I expect him to be more like the player last year than what he's shown so far.

I am far from endorsing it but we just have to get used to this with Lalonde and this roster. It seems like the system is designed to grind it out as long as possible until they can get high danger scoring chances versus putting a lot of shots on net to create chances that way. The fact that the roster doesn't have much high end skill means they won't generate much outside of what's designed, so when the Wings win I think it'll be like this until the roster changes.

Fortunate sequence for the Wings, Fischer puts a hard hit on Dillon as Dillon is turning towards the boards. Fish made contact with the shoulder mostly but Dillon went face first into the glass. Dillon was rightfully mad and started a fight, wings get the power play from it. Larkin scores on a nice shot pass from Kane, good to see Kane contribute. Edit: just realized they had Kane at the top on the power play....I like that they're trying new things but wow that's scary from a giving up a short handed goal standpoint

I forget that Joe Veleno exists for such long periods of time, why did we re-sign him again

It seems like the other teams' strategy with him is to just hit the **** out of him and he hasn't adjusted so far

Wings looked bad to start the first, Devils ended up scoring on a PP with Seider in the box. Fischer scored on a broken play then DeBrincat put in a nice shot. 2-1 into the first intermission with the Wings getting a fresh power play to start the second.

Go to 4:15 in this video, I think it is fairly obvious he's referencing Walman: Last season when they were on their big losing skid without Larkin and on the road in Florida he posted an Instagram from the beach saying he was on vacation and deleted it pretty quickly. It seems like he wasn't taking things seriously and it rubbed people the wrong way. I doubt Yzerman would ever come out and explicitly say that he was a problem but it feels kinda easy to read between the lines with everything.

Not good at all Watson having no deterrent effect in the AHL I guess. Kasper and Danielson had "fights" already this season too.

Real loser type stuff to throw punches like that with a bubble on Saw some people speculating there was bad blood between the Wings and MBN since they wanted him in the AHL and he wanted to go back to the SHL. Felt like a reach then.
