  1. For me, yes someone will sign him but no I don't want him on the Wings
  2. https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/detroit-red-wings/latest-news/nhl-insider-says-red-wings-leading-race-to-land-penguins-rust Probably means it won't happen, I feel like all Wings trades outside of DeBrincat have come out of nowhere.
  3. It is already extremely tough to get convictions in these cases and it seems like the prosecution did a horrible job on top of that. I'm not looking forward to the online discourse surrounding this now, that's for sure.
  4. Daniel Sprong signs in the KHL with CSKA, will be teammates with Buchelnikov
  5. Sounding like Eddie Genborg will play for Sweden in the summer showcase, looking forward to seeing how he does
  6. What an unhinged post about Anzalone dear lord
  7. fwiw I recalled you making the post during the playoffs (it was disappointing overall for the team honestly) so I got what you meant. I just figured I'd give a take / non-take about the Kasper/Danielson stuff since cruzer had touched on it and I'm really bored today.
  8. Comparing Danielson and Kasper's Griffins stints is a tough one for me. Kasper didn't really get an offseason going into that year and obviously started slow. But he also had the advantage of playing against men already in Sweden plus the Griffins team around him was much better. I think he played with Berggren mostly who is a very good AHL player. Danielson was on a much worse team and was basically asked to be their best player (top line center, pk and pp). Having Watson as your main winger is a tough ask and they didn't really have a defender good at breaking the puck out, they really missed Johansson and Edvinsson back there. So it is tough for me to say who was "better" but I think they both had pretty solid seasons respectively.
  9. Ya it is a shame he's so passive. Anton Johansson is a wildcard as well, maybe he's something in a season or two. Seems like he has a decent knack for a breakout pass and plays meaner.
  10. I didn't realize this was a thing, double slide is a nice option
  11. Cossa is still on the same development path as Askarov so I'm certainly not concerned yet Agree with Max on the defensemen comparisons, Tuomisto just doesn't have the footspeed to keep up in the NHL in my opinion
  12. Can’t wait for him to score a hat trick against the Wings opening night.
  13. Ya I agree with Shin, he had some stuff to clean up but I remember him being a pretty elite prospect overall. I'm still very excited about him (shocker I know). I went back to watch some scouting videos to refresh my memory and I got caught up in the rabbithole of his highlight videos for a bit 😆. His athleticism at his size really is tantalizing when he is on.
  14. I didn't realize Wheeler had Fowler over Augustine in his rankings. Interesting choice since it seems like internationally Augustine seems to get the nod over Fowler.
  15. Askarov went for a top 10 protected first round pick, a solid forward prospect (32nd overall pick by vegas originally, profile reads like a Danielson type) and a former 5th round pick goalie prospect who seems to be settling into the AHL at age 24. Askarov is probably one of the top goalie prospects in the last 10 years or something like that so less than that for sure. Not sure where I would place his "exact" value myself. My guess would be a second round pick + a Max Plante type prospect or solid roster player but even typing that out gave me the impression I'm probably way off. I could see his actual value above or below that honestly. A lot of gm's love toolsy goalies like that but also goalie development is weird as hell and scares teams.
  16. God he looks like he is 13 years old!
  17. I feel like Larkin is pretty fairly paid myself haha. It's just nice because it isn't an overpay.
  18. I heard Austin Daye is looking pretty good though!
  19. That roster, especially the defense, was not great last season. I still would want to see Cossa finish better, my guess is they don't do the Mrazek / Gibson dance if Cossa kept his play up all season.
  20. Grand Old Pedophiles
  21. It is wild to me to say a goalie still in the NCAA has passed a guy who is an AHL All Star with over a .910 save percentage his last two AHL seasons. I expected him to have Wallstedt over Cossa so at least that was a nice surprise...
  22. Signing him until UFA is a hilarious move
  23. This Sergachev quote about Blashill is so ****ing funny: "It was hard to pull myself together and play my kind of hockey. I just couldn’t. And then we changed our system — the coach from Detroit came in. I mean, we had gone to three finals, and this guy comes in and says: “We’re not playing like that anymore. Now we’re playing like ****ing Vegas.” And we’re all like, “Why?” He goes, “They have a better system. It’ll work for us.” Well, it didn’t work for me. Didn’t work for anyone. Everyone ended up with a negative plus-minus, we were all getting outscored and playing like crap."
