  1. It is a team effort in the Red Wings section! Good luck with SEC stuff
  2. No idea where Bert is, HSJ says maybe his baby is being born?
  3. Practice Lines: Namestnikov-Larkin-Raymond Vrana-Veleno-Zadina Fabbri-Suter-Gagner Erne-Rasmussen-Smith Leddy-Seider Staal-Hronek Juolevi-Stecher Oesterle/DeKeyser-Lindstrom
  4. DDK cleared waivers of course, I think Detroit put him on IR. Seems kind of weird to put him on waivers before (maybe it was to see if he could get on a team to play him and he's just on IR with hurt feelings?)
  5. Ned has looked rough but he also played really well for a stretch there so I'm not writing him off yet. This whole team is just a mess right now so it is hard to be excited about much outside of seider/raymond/larkin/bert. And I've noticed some mistakes from that group too recently. Bad hockey is infectious... Something needs to snap them out of it or the rest of the season is going to be insanely brutal to watch. I know we aren't expecting much but damn.
  6. I figured it wouldn't happen but I was genuinely curious if Blashill would get fired this morning. Two days rest, at home against one of the worst teams in the league who lose their top scorer at the beginning of the game. Awful.
  7. Ya Blash has the line blender going like crazy right now. 3-1 Coyotes I think I'm turning this one off
  8. I am interested to see how long of a leash Blashill gives Vrana. He just had a really rough shift in the d-zone where he kept looking to fly the zone instead of being available for a pass or supporting. Kinda just led to the second Coyotes goal because it led to a sloppy change and being hemmed in their own zone. It did look like Vrana - Suter - Zadina got a shift together though. Names got dropped to line four with Veleno and Gagne at least for now.
  9. Oesterle - Hronek could be an adventure. Blash really likes Erne on line 3 no matter what. I thought Rasmussen looked much better at wing so I was hoping he could stick there. Discord is down and work is slow so apologies if I post a bunch today!
  10. Ya I can't see the Rangers doing it even if it makes them better right now. It would be tempting but I would be worried about messing with Raymond. Vrana's speed and shot probably plays anywhere in the top six. He'll probably have some growing pains over a longer stretch of time but he seems like an exciting player if given minutes and an offensive role. I honestly want to see Vrana play with Zadina (I know I know) just because they allegedly play well together in international play. But honestly I'm excited to see Vrana anywhere in the lineup hopefully soon.
  11. I knew exactly what the responses were going to be to my post 😂 I hope Vrana gets cleared to actually play
  12. Vrana is practicing on line 2, they broke up the Guelph line and Bertuzzi is back to line 1 and Zadina to line 4.
  13. Link dumps! I pulled an autograph of this kid this weekend randomly so I hope he works out haha. Veleno back to Grand Rapids though I have to imagine they are potentially moving a D (Leddy?) or shutting down DDK. Even if Juolevi sucks I still like taking this chance a lot. Though quick reading up it seems like he had back and hip injuries that have really affected his skating/pivoting so if that isn't something he can regain then he's probably toast. HHe makes end to end rushes look like he's strolling in the park. Draper was in town to watch Frolunda, along with draft stuff I'm guessing they're starting to assess Elmer and Edvinsson for next season. Kronwall was there too, and they got a look at Niederbach. Looking good! Zito did NOT like that dude working him over wow. I kinda love it. Not that it changes too much the defenseman who started it and then got his ass kicked is Logan Mailloux...
  14. Holy crap, Oesterle makes an amazing pass and Rasmussen buries the goal to take the lead..... WHAT???
  15. I see what you're saying but unless AA changed his playing style I never saw him as much of a contributor outside of his points. Just glancing at his zone starts last season AA is still highly protected by the Kings (third lowest d-zone starting percentage and the two players lower than him played significantly less minutes than him and got less offensive zone starts than AA) so I'm guessing it is more of the same from him. Gagner on the other hand has the highest percentage of defensive zone starts of any Detroit player this season including defensemen. Speed is nice but I don't agree with the idea that AA would change this roster at all just because he skates fast. This makes a lot of sense, though Gagner is .34 ppg after the trade and AA is .45. So pretty similar especially with the roles that each player plays. They average about the same time on ice with AA seeing a minute and a half of power play time per game with the Kings. So there's that... I didn't mean for my comment to be this deep but I can't say I expected fans to ever long for AA's intangibles.
  16. The Athletic released a ranking of Yzerman's trades so far and I was shocked to read this blurb: "entering Monday night’s games, Gagner’s 35 points as a Red Wing were actually one more than Athanasiou has posted since the trade. Athanasiou has since moved on to the Los Angeles Kings." I thought AA was doing decently after the trade but I guess I haven't been paying close attention...
  17. Seider puts a nice low shot on net, rebound comes out to Zadina who buries it to cut the deficit in half
  18. The Avalanche are a lot better team than the Wings lol
  19. Well Helm got an assist on their first goal...
  20. Apparently Veleno looks too good for GR when he's down there so hopefully it clicks a bit in the NHL for him
