  1. I didn't like the use of the pick on an OL but Sewell is a beast. I am very happy we have this young man on this team, he is a rock star on a great OL.
  2. Yeah...we don't have the big dudes yet. I like Hutch but he's no Suh. I like what Williams could do but he's not going to be Calvin. And Stafford was a guy who could carry a team and make things happen with his arm. Goff hasn't even managed to get a ball into someone's hands beyond 26 yards this year. Goff is a guy who can succeed with all of the pieces around him, but that's not the situation here, and I'm not sure when we will be healthy enough to say that.
  3. Yes, the OLine performed brilliantly as they have throughout the season. I didn't get a chance to see the game yesterday but I looked at some clips and it seems like Goff is doing a bad job in managing the pocket in the last couple of games, and that's not the OLines' fault.
  4. You are right on the first bolded part, and I really really really hate that conditioning. I hope you are right on the second bolded part, because THAT will determine the Tiger's future. If Harris is given a mandate of a limited budget along the lines of what we have seen to-date (well below average, especially when Miggy's contract is discounted), I believe that we will be a losing team indefinitely no matter what Harris does with drafting and development. Don't get me wrong, even if he's given an average or above average budget that doesn't guarantee anything in terms of success....he still has to maximize use of analytics and scouting and his own sense of things, and some luck, and make it all happen. But WITHOUT at least an average budget, all of this discussion about analytics, drafting, development, trading, Candy vs. whoever, is all academic and pointless in my opinion.
  5. Yes, absolutely. It's a less-than-50/50 chance that he does that or completely sucks. There doesn't seem to be any in-between with Candy. If Harris already has an above-average budget to work with, I would want him to take the chance. If Harris is working on a limited budget, I would want him to prioritize other things, like getting a very good SS either through FA or Trade and pitching.
  6. Candy could easily rebound with the bat to something decent, but hes eeking over the peak performance age and is a below avg glove. I say cut him and see if you can get him back on a minimum contract. You have Kreidler and Lipcius, who wouldnt be a step back from 2022 anyway, and one of them might provide a solution for a couple of years or more.
  7. I want to see him succeed. They are doing things with the OL and running game that they have not been able to do (running for 120+ yards and 4+ yds/att without their feature back week after week) except for Barry or Billy Sims. But they keep shooting themselves in the foot. They keep not showing up at critical times. They also dont have the talent but I cannot defend the disappearing acts. Hes dispensable just like any other. They need to be better at playing all 60 minutes or hes to blame for that. They were better at this aspect today, but the TOs are just ridiculous.
  8. I wasnt watching or listening at the time so I did not know this: "The loose ball was scooped up by Cowboys linebacker Anthony Barr, marking the first time Williams has lost a fumble in his six-year career." So Lions.....so very Lions.
  9. Yeah, for better or worse, it will be Campbell trying to make this work and Goff trying to avoid puking up the ball like he has the last couple of weeks. It certainly does help when you have a guy like Swift out there (hopefully he avoids getting sand on his pussy LOL)....tho despite the fumble today, Jerome Williams has done a nice job this year.
  10. I agree 100% They keep doing things that I really really like, but then it all falls apart and they play like total jokes when it matters most. The running game ++ The defense - vastly improved, Hutch with some impact, Okudah lookint pretty good for weeks on end. Wished for more out of Cominsky. The OL - 4 sacks isnt good but still overperforming given injuries against a great D Good playcalling and no conspicuous coaching errors ....but...the TOs...and the last two Dallas drives....we just cannot compete when it matters. Today it was all about the players lack of required skills. Despite the repeated embarrassments, I dont see them ditching Campbell, so I guess he has through the end of next year at least to try and figure things out, and hopefully Holmes will get the personnel on the field needed to win.
  11. Yeah if high draft picks were the answer we would be one of the best teams in the league. ....but I know that some will say that now we have the genius Holmes, he'll get it right! ....I will believe it when I see it. Prove something to me, Holmes.
  12. Yeah, this. I like Goff personally and we all wish he had the package, and for the first few games he was very impressive for the most part, but oy, he has made it hard to like him these last few weeks.
  13. Holmes had an older Jason Hanson in Prater and stupidly let him go.
  14. Absolutely, I didnt mean to imply that owners were unwitting or unwilling in this scheme.
  15. Right, he hurls line drives that are wide as often as not. Wonky-looking shot. I like him as a person but as a player I am just not seeing it. He reminds me of Stackhouse (who I did not like), an inefficient scorer without a very good jumpshot. Cade is certainly *not* a ballhog like Stack was.
  16. Yeah, 3 for 12 from deep every 2 games aint gonna cut it. Hayes with 0-3 last night the other brickster.
  17. All good points, I guess this explains why teams basically demand a huge amount of public support for stadium projects, they are basically designing a very small financial cage if they try to finance them otherwise.
  18. Fascinating, I really had no idea that the MLB front office could pull the team's strings in so many ways.
