  1. “The president will also raise areas of cooperation — including climate change and countering narcotics trafficking — as well as Beijing’s role in the Israel-Hamas conflict and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.” Total. Waste. Of. Time. SF was a beautiful city and it sucks it’s become what it is. We’ve said several times we’d love to go back but not a chance these days.
  2. Oh, I’m a realist. I can dream though.
  3. So I understand the ‘fix it and flip it’ model Harris has going on the with pitchers. Same as when he was in S.F. My question is, how do you build a rotation for the future, or is that even a part of the plan at all? One year deals and opt outs don’t seem like a long game plan.
  4. Not totally surprised they grabbed him. The Rays pitching got hit really hard with injuries this past season. Drew Rasmussen, Shane McClanahan and Jeffrey Springs all had season-ending surgeries that will cost them some or all of the 2024 season. Buzz is they may trade Tyler Glasnow for prospects and salary reduction. Glasnow is due $25 million in 2024.
  5. You call a Tigers no-hitter, you’re always welcomed back.
  6. If Dan is going to be doing TV about 35 games a year, it is all the more important radio ups its game. I know in the past Gania and Hasty have filled in and done really good jobs, I like them both. I think either would do well solo in the booth. But they are committed to Erie and West Michigan baseball schedules. This years color guys, including Dirks, may not be suitable in a solo position in Dan’s absence.
  7. Agree. Dirks was the best sidekick Dan had this year.
  8. Joe says he’s going to travel the country searching for folks in the middle of the political spectrum.
  9. LA and SF are interested in him. I’m glad he’s gone as well.
  10. He did well with the Carlos Rodon deal as well.
  11. To your point, ERod’s agent has announced the he has no regional restrictions on where he would sign.
  12. I am convinced the Tigers will continue to play the low budget angle. My only question…is this an Illitch directive or is this the way Harris prefers to operate, or both?
  13. Before last season ended I was wishing that Chapman would be signed in Detroit for this year. He would be an out of sight-out of mind guy at third. Plug him in to the line up and go. I’m confident Harris/Illitch won’t spend the money to get him. To be able to check third base off as done going into the year would be huge for this team. Too many what-ifs associated with the third base position at this point.
  14. I’m sure that is a rhetorical question. Any and everybody knows, Zack Short is irreplaceable.
  15. Where on earth does Trump come up with all these back street lawyers?
  16. The Guardians announced on Monday that former catcher Stephen Vogt has been named the 45th manager in franchise history.
  17. Let’s say Trump wins the nomination. Nikki Haley opts to run as an independent as a result. In the general election a vote for Haley would be a vote for Biden, would it not? Haley cost Trump votes without question. I don’t see Biden losing many (or any) votes to Haley.
  18. I would suggest it would depend on who the third party candidate is. I will not vote for Trump or Biden.
  19. That’s scary as hell.
  20. A Biden-Trump rematch next year would be a complete disaster. Neither of the two should be in Washington. I’ve made it clear to friends that I will write in someone’s name before I would vote for either if they’re on the ticket. Kamala Harris should scare the piss out of anyone. She’s accomplished nothing and the party does its best to keep her out of sight. As a fiscal conservative, I can say that our out of control debt and spending are creating a lot of unhappy voters. Additionally, uncontrolled borders are inexcusable. These are the two top domestic issues that are going to cost him moderate votes if nothing changes. The GOP doesn’t have anything I’m excited about either-a sign of the times I guess.
  21. Amen! I would imagine he’s part of the reason Bob Melvin is in SF now.
  22. ERod opted out.
  23. I’d much rather have seen this money go toward a real upgrade somewhere. Looks like the same approach Harris used in his time in SF. Look for cast-offs and fringe players and hope you can find a decent one out of the bunch. Granted, Boras is Chapman’s agent, I’d still ask what it would take to get him. My expectations are low for the off season so maybe I’ll be surprised. Maybe.
