  1. I have noticed that positions on the 40-man roster change more quickly than they did in the past. It used to be that someone might be listed as an outfielder, but played first base all year and they never changed it all season. That hasn't been happening the last couple of years. Are these positions official designations or is the website just updating them more often?
  2. If the Tigers had NO chance to get him, why did Harris get involved? Or was that all made up too and he really didn't make an offer?
  3. You can never ever have too much starting pitching.
  4. I'd like to know which companies are included in this private fund.
  5. Red Sox fans are the biggest cry babies in baseball and it's not even close. Tigers fans might be a distant second!
  6. I can't read the article, but the lede says that the tariffs were reduced because of warning of harm to Trump's people? What's that about? It sounds like a mafia war.
  7. I don't know. I know he said that about the Tigers and I don't think it's something he had to say. He could have said they had a good organization and he knows Hinch and it was a difficult decision. He didn't have to say he though all along he would be a Tiger.
  8. I like Bregman as a player which is why I wanted the Tigers to get him. I am happy he is doing well and still wish the Tigers signed him. It's not like he's "Big Papi" or something! I am also happy the Red Sox are not doing well. Also, I believe most people here were originally from the Detroit, so they have some pride in the city and some may even have a chip on their shoulder about people putting it down. My only connection to Detroit is the Tigers.
  9. Not really. I like seeing the Red Sox lose, but Bregman is having a great year which is what you claim is all he wanted.
  10. Does he use the same diplomacy with other teams that were involved in the bidding? Did he tell the Chicago and Toronto media that he thought all winter that he was going to become a Cub/Blue Jay?
  11. How will this work? Is there going to be a wide selection of choices or is it going to be a high cost "preferred stock" fund? https://www.marketwatch.com/story/1-000-maga-accounts-wont-actually-make-most-american-kids-richer-experts-say-9fd6b9a2?mod=home_ln
  12. I am finally watching extra inning games now even though I hate them. That's how much I like this team.
  13. He did not regress tonight!
  14. Probably worse. I had actually forgotten about him. When I think about players coming back from injuries, he's not one of the ones that comes to mind.
  15. You keep saying there was no way he would ever sign with Detroit, but I don't see any evidence that that is true. Harris would not have stayed involved up to the end if there was no chance to get him. If Boston didn't make that huge one-year offer, he may very well have taken Detroit's best offer.
  16. That wouldn't be terrible, but I've rather have Bregman. 😄
  17. Baez's .398 BABIP suggests a lot of regression is coming. I am fine with Torres playing second base. The point I was making is that Torres did not have a good reputation as a teammate, but has not been a problem at all. I doubt Bregman would have been either. I still wish they got him. I am really enjoying the team as is, but I think Bregman would have been a great addition.
  18. That is always a possibility, but there is also a possibility he could have improved the environment even more. Everything I've heard about him suggests he is a good teammate. They haven't been affected by Torres's unwilingness to play other positions and Bregman openly stated he would be willing to move off third if necessary.
  19. It's a pretty effective combo. Trumps reels in all the red hats to get into power. Then the oligarchs manipulate him into giving them what they want.
  20. Especially one that is not a good fielder and needs his bat to be useful.
  21. In 1883, Providence beat Philadelphia 28-0 behind Old Hoss Radbourn.
  22. That's another thing that can easily happen to a healthy older person, but when you have a very public job it can get magnified. It can certainly be a problem if it becomes too frequent but I wouldn't be concerned that "something is going on".
  23. It's very common to forget names when you are in your 60s. It happens to me frequently. It doesn't matter too much in my work, because I don't need to say names much. It's more difficult for a broadcaster who doesn't have the option of just not sayig the name or hesitating until he gets it right. For example, if Framber Valdez is pitching, I can imagine an older broadcaster have Ismael on his mind and just saying it.
  24. You finally made it.
