  1. Seriously? We complain about everything! We are hopefiully that new management is better than old management of giving us a better team.
  2. Independent league ball is fun - very low key, but some decent talent in some leagues. There was a team up in Nashua, NH many years back which would sometimes get former big leaguers for a period of time and I got to see the Cansecos hot dogging it at Holman Stadium. Another time, Rickey Henderson was supposed to play and the place was unusually packed. Unfortunately, he was a no show.
  3. Blair Calvo...The Tigers are buyers!
  4. I think he's for real, but I don't expect him to get better and he can't field. I think he'll be a good platoon DH, extra outfielder.
  5. I've heard people say for years that Musk is a genius. He sounds like a moron on twitter. I mean the guy isn't even clever or funny. Nothing original at all.
  6. I don't think we know that yet for sure. He had some success in San Francisco with pitchers. He has made some promising trades with the Tigers, but I grade them as incomplete at this point.
  7. If Harris is going to turn this organization around, then that's the kind of thing he needs to be able to do creative things like that. I think you and Echo might disagree on who is a fringe prospect though!.
  8. Not just our campaign culture, but Americans, in general, value that highly. I agree that it's not generally necessary and is sometimes a drawback.
  9. In a small sample, Veirling has reversed his platoon split this year - hitting RHP and not LHP. Since he has not had trouble hitting LHP in the past and should hit them again, this is a positive sign. he also has good process stats this year. I was thinking he had them last year based on his at bats versus LHP.
  10. He'll take care of everything - he'll take the old apartment and set him up in a real nice place up in Toledo for nothing. All he asks is a couple of small favors.
  11. Of course, the number one goal is to make money, but they also want to win...which will help them make money. The Tigers have shown very little evidence over the years that they hold players back even if they are ready. They didn't hold back any of their top prospects - Greene, Torkelson, Mize, Manning, etc.
  12. Let's see them all get full health and maintain it before we get too excited.
  13. There won't be as much of that now. I could see him holding him back to maintain ROY status, so he can potentially get a draft pick. However, I think if they really think he's ready to be a contributing major leaguer they will call him up.
  14. I don't know whether he'll debate or not, but anything he does won't be because he knows better. His decision to debate or not debate will be based on emotion. He'll arrogantly say he doesn't to debate, but could very easily jump in if he feels he is not getting enough attention or feels a need to bully someone.
  15. I trust that the Tigers know better than us which level wll benefit his development the most. I think this is the kind of thing fans don't really know a lot about.
  16. I would assume they are working on something which might not show up in the stats. I think minor league stats show potential, but not necessarily readiness. Also the difference between AA and AAA is not that big, The biggest minors jump is supposedly from A to AA. And then the jump from AAA to the majors is huge. Another possibility is they might be waiting for his arm to get strong again before moving him.
  17. He's all roided up for his final push like Pujols. Who's going to tell Pujols and Cabrera they can't take roids for their farewell tours? Just kidding of course, but not 100%.
  18. There are ultra right Neo Nazi types in every country including the United States.
  19. You offered a bet to me that he would not debate Biden. He skipped one debate with Biden, but he did do that infamous debate where he would not shut up. I did not accept your bet though, so you don't owe me anything!
  20. You said that the last and you lost a bet!
  21. What is the reason for the first criterion? What difference does it make if the appear on a list?
  22. What I really want is some tough guy to run for president, get into the debates and tell the truth about Trump no holds barred. Then when Trump starts insulting him, this guy goes over and punches him in the face. pay per view!
  23. My feeling was that he didn't have the body type and didn't seem to have the workout regimen to maintain health through his 30s. I thought the same about Prince Fielder. Maybe, I am just a biased sknny runner dude.
  24. I was in favor of all those things at the time. I didn't mind that they extended Cabrera because it was Cabrera and I didnt think they were going to transfer his salary to new players if they didnt sign him. However, it was easy to see that it would probably end badly. Even without him, when you have two aces in your rotation and a strong GM, it gives you a chance to cobble together a supporting cast good enough to contend in a given year instead of being crap year after year.
  25. There are limited situations where the higher BA is preferable. However, if two players have the same OPS and one has a higher batting average, the other player likely also has more extra base hits which makes it more like to get RBI with a runner on first base. So, overall I don't know that the player with the higher average will necessaily have an RBI advantage.
