I agree that the new administration has nothing to do with it. I have chosen to think positively about the new admin for a couple of years, but realistically they are still largely an unknown.

How about we put him in the same bucket as all the other pitching prospects? He was unproven and now he's hurt and won't pitch all year. He may come back, but I think it's fair to say he is not a top pitching prospect in baseball at the moment.

All of that is correct. The only thing to be determined will be what other things he'll get away with if he becomes president again (which is a real possibility). I think one of the main reasons he'll get away with it is that so many other politicians are also committing crimes (to a lesser degree than Trump) and they want to keep on getting away with it. They all like their lack of accountability and don't want to set a precedent.

There are definitely many variables to be considered, but I would expect more stolen bases this year with the larger bases and pickoff rule change. 64% seems like a lot, but it would be pretty cool if it happens. I think there needs to be more action in the game.

I just don't think it's stricty a position battle. I believe that if they think Baddoo and Carpenter will contribute offensively, they will keep them both. I don't think They will drop one of them just because they need a back-up first baseman. However, if one or both doesn't look like a contributor, they may go for more flexibility.

I don't think the Tigers are going to have traditional starter and bench roles this year. They are going to have a lot of multi-position players moving around the field and the Toledo shuttle is going to be busy. They have enough players who can play 1B and 3B even if they keep Carpenter and Baddoo.
