  1. I also think that. He is certainly smart, but I think his failure to stop the players from cheating when he was against it is a negative mark on his record. It doesn't mean he can't learn from his mistakes, but I could see where teams might be a little hesitant about him.
  2. That must have been inspiring.
  3. Avila has not been popular on this board for a long time. Just because people question the awesomeness of the great AJ Hinch does not mean they like Avila as the GM.
  4. It's a player's only meeting. Hopefully Tarik Skubal is tearing everyone a new one.
  5. yeah, I know. I don't think this is Hinch's fault. I am still in the "managers are overrated" camp.
  6. Nobody should be in panic mode. The five year tank is over and the rebuild is complete.
  7. If there is anybody here that knows about emotional modes, it would be you!
  8. This should be close to a league average offense (maybe a little less) instead of the worst offense in 80 years. I don't know whether that has anything to with him, but if Ausmus or Gardenhire were the manager, they'd be getting blamed for it.
  9. I don't think they should keep him either. I am not sure about Hinch though. He is a smart baseball man, but he lost the Astros in the cheating scandal. Has he now lost the Tigers?
  10. It is objectively one of the worst offenses of any team in the past 80 years. Based on runs scored per game, it is the worst since 1942.
  11. He didn't express an opinion on the subject matter other than to say he didn't think the sources were credible.
  12. I don't either, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.
  13. She is one of the few people in Congress with a pulse.
  14. I was thinking of the same comp.
  15. Boebert is Trash. AOC is too idealistic, but she's not dumb.
  16. I definitely don't want to see the video of her and Ted Cruz.
  17. I had a rare chance to watch the game on TV because they were playing the Red Sox.
  18. I didn't think it did either. The home run is online, but not the play at the plate.
  19. Wow, they just showed the play where Gibson ran into the umpire and catcher! I have been looking for that play for decades. He also hit the ball over the right field roof in the same game. It was a game I'll never forget even though they lost.
  20. Hustle force out for Baez!!!
  21. I really hope there is no video...
  22. I also don't think there an advantage to putting Reyes in CF over Castro. As you've said, CF is probably easier to play than RF. What CF requires over RF is range and I don't think there is a difference between Reyes and Castro there. The problem with Castro is making plays.
  23. The Tigers were lucky just to make the playoffs that year. Nobody took them seriously as a team that could beat the Athletics. Anybody can win a short series though and the Tigers almost did. It's funny. I remember that year for the player's strike more than anything else. I was nine years old and I couldn't figure out why anyone would go on strike from baseball! It was a bit of loss of innocence.
  24. As far as worst playoff moments, that Ortiz home run was the worst.
  25. It's still just one week in the fall though. It was a fun summer.
