  1. I don't think you can place any blame oln the cops based on that video. You can't just let people do the cops job in a shooting incident. That's what the gun nuts are always suggesting we should do and I am vehemently opposed to that.
  2. Which Tiger did he think is a professional hitter who knows how to win?
  3. Tarik Skubal is looking good on all the fancy FanGraphs numbers: Fangraphs Ranks: WAR 2 xERA 3 FIP 2 K-BB% 9 SIERA 7 ERA 12
  4. Remember, when someone is going well it's because of HInch. If someone is doing poorly, it's because Avila gave Hinch crap players to work with.
  5. The official term is Extra Inning Placed Runner (XIPR pronouncer zipper). Whatever you want to call it, I don't watch innings involving free runners. It's not baseball.
  6. Because Trump is afraid of guns. That's why he dodged the draft.
  7. They could get Jason Castro. his name is Castro and he's having a terrible season. Seems like a good fit.
  8. Adding seats seems like game playing to me. Setting term limits seems reasonable. Set term limits for congress too!
  9. I do too, but he is 32 so it could be the beginning of a decline. There isn't really anyone to replace him though, so I think there is no reason to stop playing him.
  10. I think these kinds of slumps are often caused by minor injuries that we don't know about. It depends on who it is though. If Mike Trout has a bad year, they are going to stay with him all year. If it's Javier Baez and you know he's extremely streaky anyway you stay with him. If it's someone with no track record, you remove him immediately. If it's Grossman who has been pretty good but not great and has reached an age where many players go into decline, it's a judgement call.
  11. I think it's a small group of super wealthy people who are their enemies. It's definitely not poor people and race/ethnicity is irrelevant. America is an oligarchy and the people that really run the country love our culture wars. It's the perfect distraction.
  12. I think they needed Torkelson, Green, Mize and Manning to all make significant contributions in order to be the team they were hyped to be this year. This was a long short even before the injuries. Too many fans were thinking that their May through September record last year was the baseline going into the year and that they were going to add another 10-15 wins with the free agent acquisitions and young talent. It was mostly wishful thinking.
  13. Yes, I agree batting order doesn't mean much and I think it means less when nobody can hit anway. Swapping Grossman and Schoop right now is meaningless, although if they are both hitting having Grossman bat higher is probably slightly more beneficial.
  14. If everyone were healthy, they could be better than .500 but given their healthy choices I agree they wouldn't go above .500.
  15. Batting order can mean more than five runs over a season, but when none of them can hit anyway, I don't think it matters at all. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/how-significant-is-batting-order/#:~:text=Most sabermetric analyses of batting, order isn't very important.
  16. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Sarah Sanders both won primaries, The level of ignorance in certain parts of our country is stunning.
  17. They need some instant runs.
  18. Nothing will ever happen. Our country made a mistake creating our gun culture and we are too far down the road to ever turn back. It's barbaric.
  19. If the Sandy Hook shooting didn't get to you, there is something wrong with you. Given the age of the victims, this one is similar.
  20. Hardly anything politicians say is newsworthy, because they are all full of shit.
  21. It's so unfair!
  22. I think it was based on body type and facial resemblance.
  23. no.
  24. Actually yes. That is how it works. If the Tigers play the Blue Jays 162 times, you can predict with a great deal of certainty that the Blue Jays will win more games than the Tigers. If it's a three game series, the Tigers would have a decent chance to win the series.
  25. I am not impressed by correct predictiions unless the reasoning for the prediction was sound. Otherwise, it ws just luck. I am more impressed by someone who makes an incorrect predict based on solid reasoning. There was one guy in this forum several years ago who made a random prediction about a Tiger getting traded and everybody made fun of him because it seemed unlikely. It turned that player was traded the next day. It was pretty hilarious and this poster became a legend for the next few months. then he started making dumb predictions about everything and was always wrong and he became annoying.
