  1. Outliers like Judge pump up the average. I would bet the median is closer to 0.
  2. The average is 4.35 WAR.
  3. That is cetainly possible. I remember in high school cross country, we had ****head1 and ****head2, Peter *****, Groin and reefer among others.
  4. If they don't score runs, they won't win. That is my bold predicton.
  5. I think he's been a good manager for the most part.
  6. I don't like to be critical of Hinch, but that was a really quick hook. Mize was doing fine and it's not like they have a great bullpen which is going to shut them down for six innings.
  7. Most jock nicknames are either gross or unimaginative. The gross ones don't usually reach the public. It might have started out as something gross, but now it is just a name fans associate with Raleigh. I don't think most fans think of him taking a **** when they hear his name.
  8. The Tigers have score 6 runs in 15 of Mize's games this year.
  9. Is there any evidence of this? You would think that they would get better, but I don't know that they do. Or maybe they get slightly better, but not enough to justify all the outs they make waiting for them to make a small improvement.
  10. I get emotional about that game every time I see it. Maybe it was because of my age at the time, but it was the most unforgettable game I have ever seen - better than the Ordonez homer, better than the Gibson homer, better than any of the no hitters,...
  11. Williams, Glick and the Sports Huddle led by Eddie Andelman were great. Andelman is now unlistenable, but his schtick was hilarious when I was in high school.
  12. That was my thought. You're more likely to get an OK game out of Mize than Flaherty, but you are more likely to get a dominant game out of Flaherty especially aginst a strong line-up.
  13. I believe Philadelphia was around 1200. WCAU? Baltimore and Cleveland also had strong signals. I hated the Orioles because they were so good. I liked them a little better when Jon Miller was their broadcaster starting in the mid 80s. What I remember most about Cleveland was Pete Franklin. He was a jerk, but at that time being a jerk on the radio was new and unique so I thought it was funny. Plus, he used to trigger Yankees fans by explaining to them why the indians were better than the Yankees.
  14. We were able to pick that up occasionally, but it was never very clear. If we moved the radio in the right position we could hear games fade in and out of static. We often had to guess what was happening in the game based on the crowd noise, broadcaster intonation and timimg of commercials. Philadelphia was really strong though and Harry Kalas had such a memorable voice.
  15. I have always had a soft spot for the Phillies because my father was a Cardinals fan and we used to listen to Cardinals/Phillies games on the Radio when I was a kid. The Philadelphia station had a strong signal and it was one of the few stations where we could listen to Cardinal games. That was before I knew that WJR had a strong signal too.
  16. I think it's becauise they trust Flaherty more. If this series goes five games and the Tigers win, then the pitcher who pitches the opener of the next series would pitch three times if it goes 7 games. That would probably be Flaherty
  17. What are Mariners fans chanting every time Suarez is up? Is it simply "Eugenio"?
  18. Big clutch hit by Torkelson who has been struggling.
  19. I have seen little clips. It seems like something they would do in between innings at a minor league. I can't see watching a full game.
  20. Hinch is a genius again.
  21. The good Tigers are officially back.
  22. I knew or I might have turned it off. 😃
  23. It's so nice to see real baseball in extra innings.
