  1. Funny how after 0 penalties in 60 minutes for the Chiefs, the Bucs are called for two impactful penalties in the first 3:09.
  2. Where is everyone?? Hope people didn’t think it was an 8pm kick
  3. Amon-Ra needs to catch that, what the hell is with him?? He’s running for another 20-30 yards after too.
  4. This will be the first regular season home game I am not attending since December 2022. Couldn’t make it happen with the work travel schedule. The beer will be cold and cheaper at whatever bar I land at, or from the couch!
  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if the impetus for the clip getting pulled came from within the Lions organization. It was up and then down very fast. Too fast for it to have been the result of social media backlash. I wouldn’t be surprised if a player sent it to Campbell who sent it to Rod Wood who sent it to NFL Films with the message “what in the absolute hell is this garbage?”
  6. What a weird week. Lions get objectively robbed of a touchdown by a violation of NFL rules by NFL officials. In seeking to uphold the integrity of the game, the official blatantly lies about how the process occurred in a post-game interview. When called out on the lie, the NFL doubles down, seeking to protect its integrity by lying about how much integrity it has. The Chiefs are called for zero penalties in a game, the first time that has occurred in the NFL in approximately two years. Brian Branch gets suspended for a game because of a fight, instigated because of the apparent lack of enforcement of safety rules during the game by officials. The appeal of this suspension is heard by former Packer d-bag Jordy Nelson and is predictably denied. In the aftermath of the suspension, NFL Films releases a hit piece on Brian Branch. Within hours, in the face of immense backlash, NFL Films deletes the piece. What'd I miss?
  7. That wasn’t even the first play call on 4th and Goal. They took a timeout on the first play call because they were about to take a Delay, but the play call was for Goff to play action and roll out. It was a stupid bet, I don’t think there’s any real likelihood of foul play there with the betting. I think the NFL ops just overstepped their authority and Wrolsted covered everyone’s ass by toeing the company line in the pool report.
  8. Probably yes. My understanding is Arnold is back after the bye. Reed back maybe a few weeks later. Picking up someone who likely won’t even be fully up to speed by the time you’re back to full strength screams panic.
  9. I don’t see the relative benefit of a trade for a DB. If Arnold or Reed or BB or Kerby were done for the year, maybe, but we’ll get them all back. Even in a best case scenario after a trade where they’re so impactful you say they won you a game you should have lost in their absence, the cost-benefit of going 13-4 instead of 12-5 is just not significant. This isn’t the Tigers where they’re completely devoid of hitting talent. There’s plenty of talent. We will win football games. Just get healthy before January, that’s all that matters.

  11. Bills losing by two scores to a bad Falcons team makes me feel better about yesterday.
  12. I don’t think John Harbaugh will be fired by the Ravens, I don’t think Sherone is going anywhere any time soon, and I don’t think John Harbaugh would be interested in the college game even if both those first two things happened. He would likely have his pick of NFL jobs if he left the Ravens, and I could see him taking a GM-type executive role somewhere before he returned to college. He’d probably be a really good GM. All that said, bringing him to Michigan would be a gamble. It sounds great on paper but he’s nearly 30 years removed from college football, and that was as a special teams coordinator at Cincinnati and Indiana. Far cry from today’s world of NIL recruitment and the institutional politics both within and outside of the school. It’s probably harder to be a college head coach right now than it is an NFL head coach. He would need to likely be in a similar role as Belichick is at UNC. I think John Harbaugh is a better person and coach than Belichick, and less chaotic than his brother, so it would have some likelihood of success (as opposed to Belichick), but I don’t think it would be as plug-and-play as it was with Jim, who was just five years removed from his time as head coach at Stanford when Michigan hired him.
  13. I talk about it above, but I come at it from the perspective of having seen them live discussing it for 30 seconds, come to an agreement, separate, then come back together a second time and throw the flag. If they had thrown the flag the first time they talked I would have been suspicious. But to do it in the second huddle, I have no doubt it came from elsewhere. FWIW, Campbell agrees.
  14. Why do we have rules if we aren’t going to follow them? NFL Rule 15-4(g) clearly states: “any aspect of a play not listed as reviewable in Section 3 of this Rule” is unreviewable. Nothing about motions, formations, or getting set is anywhere in Section 3. If it were, half the tush pushes could come back for the false start. Juwaan Taylor would get called for being in the backfield a lot more too. A parallel would be the Seahawks-Lions game from a decade ago with the batting out of the end zone. The official staring right at it inexplicably called it nothing. That’s not reviewable. They shouldn’t be calling down on that either. No matter the intentions and trying to get some obscure penalty right, the on-field officials should be absolutely constrained by the four corners of the rule book. That should be their Bible. That is how you keep everyone on a level playing field. They didn’t do that yesterday. To circumvent the rule, they just lied to us and claimed it was decided on the field when it so clearly wasn’t. Because it’s not like the NFL would ever release the audio from their communications! To me, that shows a complete lack of integrity that’s far worse than any missed call.
  15. For context here was my view: IMG_0908 (1).mp4
  16. This bit about nothing coming from upstairs defies what my eyes told me watching last night. It’s absolutely a lie. Just like they lied in Dallas. JG scored, I celebrated. Turned back to the field and saw the Referee and Down Judge talking. I said aloud, “oh here’s Dallas all over again!” They came to an understanding and separated, went to go spot the ball for the XP. I remember saying “okay we’re good!” Then while they’re back together, the second time, the Referee nods, abruptly walks away, and throws the flag.
  17. KC is the worst logistical stadium I’ve been to, bar none.
  18. Since the penalty was declined, the Chiefs will end the game with zero penalties. The Lions didn’t let it make a difference, but the NFL wasn’t going to let the Lions win.
  19. I don’t believe the Chiefs are more talented than the Lions. Hope they take this as a wake up call.
  20. Not good enough from the defense tonight. And I’m not talking about the replacements. The front absolutely has to be better than this.
  21. They’re not allowed to let it matter but I am. This should be a six-point game.
  22. Who knows what the original call was, but Goff wanted the screen.
