  1. I feel bad for Scott Mitchell. Didn’t he balloon up to 300 pounds?
  2. Agreed. We should not forget that the defense from last year was worst in yards allowed and third from the bottom in points allowed. This year they are ninth in yards allowed and 21st in points allowed, despite the fact that two of three players they signed to start in their secondary have missed almost the entire season, along with a player who had 20% of their sacks last year. The defense is still a work in progress, but they kept the team in the game for a historic comeback against the Bears. I still think Houston will be back this year, and I suspect MCDC will have to fight CJGJ to keep him off of the field in the playoffs.
  3. Goff looked terrible throwing outside in Baltimore. I don’t want to see him in Philly in January.
  4. Say what you will about Mahomes and the Chiefs, but that was a big win by Philly, on the road, to keep a firm grasp on the #1 seed in the NFC.
  5. Mahomes laid a sure TD right into MVS’s hands. And he dropped it. Chiefs lose.
  6. Good because Sorsdal is not ready for prime time.
  7. And, of course, the next Bears game is outside in the swirling north winds of Soldier Field. Not a good setting for Goff.
  8. Sorsdal had a PFF rating of 45.4. Ouch.
  9. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2023/11/19/jameson-williams-td-kickstarts-lions-in-comeback-win-over-bears/ More on Jaymo. I always thought the character concerns on him were overblown but I hope they are put to rest now. Tidbit from the story: that’s the first time he’s ever been on the field for a two minute drill in a real game setting. He’s been on such good teams, and so talented, that he’s just been able to coast. Some guys like him would never get it together. But he’s doing it.
  10. From Kyle Meinke at Mlive: “Rookie offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal started for the injured Jonah Jackson at left guard. His most noteworthy play was a first-down holding penalty that backed Detroit behind the sticks, and led to Goff’s second interception of the day.” Waiting for PFF numbers and film reviews to come out but Jonah Jackson missed the game and Goff got hammered all game. I think I read he got hit eight times.
  11. I wanted Vrabel when Patricia came. I agree that Vrabel is not the problem. Getting rid of AJ Brown was the start of the problem, or maybe was emblematic of it. But he is likely to become a scapegoat.
  12. https://www.detroitlions.com/news/notebook-williams-making-plays-earning-lions-trust He had a tough catch on third and long for a first down, then a 32 yard TD to make the comeback possible. And MCDC says he is part of the herd. It’s looking better all the time.
  13. Oh don’t mind me. I was cheekily referring to another post from several weeks ago. 😊
  14. Out of conference losses don’t count for playoff seeding. 😉
  15. You don’t get a lot of touches when the team coughs the ball up four times.
  16. Just watched the Hutchinson strip safety again. What a monster.
  17. Great comeback. Goff has not had a worse game this year and they still come out with a win.
  18. Two safeties standing around watching their only deep threat.
  19. Oh dear lord. Three turnovers again?
  20. They can barely call a delay of game!
  21. Great catch. And we get the ball after halftime.
