  1. I think the forum is definitely war hawk moreso than previously but I think that happened with Ukraine war. The current war is pushing it more hawkish. But I also do think that Democrats and Liberals (not leftists, people slightly to the right of them) in general have become more war hawkish. I am more hawkish as well. It's my contention that there was a prevalence, but a much lower prevalence, of antisemitic actions on campuses prior to October 7, and an explosion after October 7th. However, before October 7th, discussions of antisemitism on campuses was largely absent here. Now I will go into hypothetical land so feel free to disregard my hypothetical as you see fit: I also think that prior to October 7th, if a poster started posting about WHY the prevalence of antisemitic actions on campuses was happening/increasing (which are literally crimes) they would not be accused of condoning such acts. I am a trained and degreed criminologist - trying to explain why crimes happen in order to decrease their prevalence - is the essence of the field. I've worked on studies on the etiology of lynchings, software piracy, drug use, and several other crimes. In no way were those efforts to condone such acts, and arguing so indicts (pun intended) the entire field of criminology. They are efforts to understand the cause and proscribe potential solutions. Thus far, the only one that has come close to vocally agreeing with my take is 84 and I appreciate him reading what I actually posted and seeing my point.
  2. There's a real inconsistency in reactions in this forum pre/post Oct 7 as well. I'm not sure why given the argument that the war doesn't matter that multiple people have raised.
  3. MTU, Sue brought this bolded ETA sentence to my attention, I had not seen it before she mentioned it. I genuinely appreciate it. It was not my intent and accept your apology. Thanks again.
  4. always the victim.... by gaslighting do you mean apologizing to me for misrepresenting me? by gaslighting do you mean accusing me of things, then saying you didn't do exactly what you did? by gaslighting do you mean admitting you're inferring my words instead of debating my actual words (at least 2 have admitted this just this morning)? by gaslighting do you mean accusing me of not responding to posts that were proven didn't exist when I responded? by gaslighting do you mean calling a thread where all of the aforementioned is happening a "great thread"? Those happened. Facts.
  5. When's the next time to vote?
  6. I did not cut anything. That part was not there when I responded. It was ETA. Screenshot below. However, now that you have pointed it out to me, I accept his apology and am glad to move on. I also accept your apology for accusing me for intentionally disregarding something when I can prove I did not.
  7. Thanks. As you're admitting here that you're inferring on my words I'll let you take up the discussion with someone who actually holds the views you're inferring to me.
  8. Likewise, I also never said they were OK. Who said they were OK in order to initially phrase the question to me as "Ok too"?
  9. Yes, I was asking for clarification for your words because I like to respond to what is posted. I'm still interested in whether you think they're OK
  10. I don't think those are OK. I also don't think the ones are against Jewish folks are OK either. Do you think they're ok? You said "OK too" which seems to suggest there are some you think are OK for which we add to.
  11. I would be interested to read something about his recent transformation. My most lasting memory of him is during the Mueller hearing where he was trying to defend Trump but inadvertendly led Mueller to say that he could charge Trump with crimes after he leaves office.
  12. done
  13. OK, thanks for clarifying on the rules. I don't share your assessment otherwise.
  14. Bro. I appreciate the advice, but I'm ok with it. If you think I'm breaking the rules I apologize, that is not my intent.
  15. Ah yes more convenient inferences on what I posted. Just what I was hoping for! We don't have enough of those! At least you have the stones to admit you took liberty with my words unlike the other posters here I responded to what you actually said. You now admit you responded to what you inferred I said. I trust that you see the difference but I don't think you'll admit the obvious difference because some people like drama.
  16. And you apparently love to be the liar.
  17. OK rad drama-generating hypothetical but here in this actual real thread of posts you posted, you did accuse me of leaving out what you called the biggest reality. It's been quoted and bolded. I'm sorry that you posted something you didn't intend to post, so you can just say sorry and move on but some like drama
  18. Now that we have clearly established by quoting and bolding your post that you were in fact, accusing me of this - let's dig a little deeper. You say this is the "bigggest" reality - I would argue it's absolutely not bigger reality than the hypothetical person (who actually has thousands of real life examples) family being in danger. It may be equal reality but not bigger, both are equally real.
  19. Here's where you literally accused me.
  20. You literally said I left that out. It was an accusation. You gp ahead and take comfort in misrepresenting both mine and your own posts as if I cant read.
  21. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/11/01/politics/ken-buck-will-not-seek-reelection/index.html Ken Buck quote: “Our movement has always been fueled by immutable truths about human nature individual liberty and economic freedoms,” the Colorado Republican said in his video announcement. “The Republican Party of today, however, is ignoring self-evident truths about the rule of law and limited government in exchange for self-serving lies.”
  22. It's amazing how much the senate sucks.
  23. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/11/01/tuberville-military-promotion-hold/ Senate Republicans erupt in anger over Tuberville’s military freeze
  24. Yeah, I read an article that said he is now blocking individual votes where he was previously saying he wouldn't do that. Ernst and Sullivan are pissed off at him. I think tuberville stunt will be done soon.
  25. Oh you accused me of leaving that out but now you're talking about not me so I'll let you take that up with the not me's.
