It won't pass the senate obviously, so... I think the key to defense in politics is running out the clock. If they're going to prioritize something that has no chance of succeeding that high, they literally help run out the clock. Bring it.

It really seems like it is getting totally whitewashed on the right. Polling recently shows Approval of the insurrectionist rioters and skepticism that Biden won are both increasing in the GOP. I think we're at a really important time in this nations history and we are not meeting the challenge.

From the C-Span calls today to AC Thompson, it sounds like a big thing on the right now re: Jan 6th is "Pelosi was in charge of security". Put aside the obvious notion "you didn't protect the capitol well enough from the people we think are freedom fighters" as a criticism makes no sense (sense literally doesn't matter) but she is not solely responsible for security of the capitol - cocaine mitch is also equally responsible and narry a single mention of him by any callers *or the moderator* when Pelosi is bashed for this. One caller claimed she didn't call National Guard, and another said that's not in her authority, but other than that, the narrative that Pelosi failed on that day is being repeated without challenge.

The thing with that is we did that in 2016 and it didn't work. We thought he'd be easy to beat. I'm long past underestimating him or the Republicans. That said, the scoreboard does read: Trump lost the house, presidency, and senate while he was president. So the preponderance of the evidence is he's an electoral loser but that side is way more motivated than they've been before and I think more than the dems. I've said it before but I think he is both their best and worst chance to win because he drives people to vote on both sides.

I think there might be a real political undercurrent happening with crypto as well, I think the political right is liking it more. Maybe I mean the conspiratorial right? I know someone who is into all that kinda conspiracy stuff and all the sudden he bought $100 in some crypto currency and was checking is phone all the time and shit. As far as I know, the dude has never done any investing before. So it's weird. I wasn't in the old investing thread years ago. Was ballmich in that thread and did he love crypto?
