Do you currently have 110v devices? That’s a good starting point. I have noticed that battery life tends to have decreased in smoke alarms even with the ten-year units. I don’t know if them being smarter draws more life out of the batteries but it is noticeable. Also, it is wise to purchase a can of smoke detector spray (available on Amazon) and test them at time changes.

He is a consummate showman.

As a guitarist, I know what he was doing during 7 Nation Army and it was very, very cool. Alternative tuning and a distorted acoustic with a slide was not reinventing the wheel but it just shows how much he cares about playing for the song. It’s why he belonged in that doc with Page and The Edge. It’s not always about skill.

Jack White killed it. That was fantastic.

Joan Osborne singing Lovely Rita didn’t suck! I never knew that was her as her alto voice sounded very dudeish but she did a phenomenal job.

Pay attention to the drumming (especially on Elo Kiddies and Auf Weidersein”). He is simply amazing. So much swing.

Put Live at Budokan on with headphones and listen with no distractions. Try to find the Full Concert version if you don't want to listen to the YouTube video I’ll link below. Usually a bands most popular songs are my least favorite and I’ll skip them every time (I’m looking at you “Dream On” and “Rock N Roll All Night”) But I never skip the live version of “I Want You To Want Me” because the girls singing the echo “crying crying crying” gives me chills. Its just mind blowing how loud and into it they were. They were relatively unknown in the US but Japan loved them. That album was never supposed to see the light of day outside Japan.

No. Technically still part of the band. He tracks and posts setlists, rare recordings etc. but hes just physically unable to tour due to his back.
