A couple really nice, big defensive plays on this drive.

This is a game for playoff seeding. Goff needed to get rid of that to at least give us a shot to kick a FG. You can't ask this defense to win you the game, they just generally aren't built to do it. When they gift the offense a turnover they have to turn that into points if they want to win.

It was stunning to me to read the stat about us being 0-15-1 when we score fewer than 4 goals. I knew we were porous defensively this year and have had our share of goaltending concerns, but my god. Outside of acquiring talent and hoping for healthy goaltenders, I don't know how you substantially improve on that. I don't feel like their is a schematic or system change Lalonde can make that will drastically improve our defense and our ability to hold onto a lead. Once again, all the good feelings from a decent start to the season have been completely erased this year and here I sit worried. Though this year, unlike last, I am worried not as much about scoring, as much as I am about our inability to play any stay home defense and hold onto a lead.

Jimmy Johnson is a bum who needed a super team to win in the 90s. He didn't win squat when he went to Miami. Ok, so he's a good coach, but I really hope we spoil his ring of honor night tonight.

Maybe this will turn out to be a version 2.0 of the Baltimore game and we get blown out. But if we want to go out and show the world that we are legit, then we got out and win or at minimum lose a very close game. Dallas has a decent, but by no means great, run defense. We run the ball well and win when our combo of backs runs for north of 120 yards. Why can't our running attack lead us to victory. I think it can. I'm going with the Lions tonight over the Cowboys. Lions 30 - Dallas 27.
