  1. I saw Riley Patterson missed a chip shot last night for the Browns.
  2. We've had a lot of proud, storied moments in Detroit sports history. We've had multiple World Series titles, NFL Championships (though no Super Bowl), Stanley Cups, and NBA Championships. However, we've also had a lot of not so proud moments in our sports history as well. These terrible moments in our sports history have largely been thanks to incompetent ownership and the General Managers they have employed to build their teams. We have certainly had our fair share of downright awful GM's in this town too. We've had the near 25 year reign of terror with Russ Thomas as Lions GM, followed later by Matt Millen's near decade's long reign of terror. We've had Randy Smith and Al Avila running teams that were on pace for the all time losing record in Major League Baseball. And now, we currently have a GM in Troy Weaver with the Pistons whose working on his own record of all time futility in the NBA. So that begs the question; Who is the worst GM in Detroit sports history and why?
  3. I used to bring these types of stats up when Ma . . . Ah nevermind. It's just nice to see a Lions QB is playing really well against top defenses. Nice job Goff!
  4. Agree with all of this. Baltimore, and Cleveland earlier in the year, really showed the formula on how to beat them. Even though our defense is subpar overall , our run defense has been a good, bright spot this season. Limiting CMC's carries and YPC is a tough, but doable task IMO. As well, Brock Purdy isn't a complete statue in the pocket and does have some mobility. But Baltimore got pressure on him and had him rattled all night long and forced him to make mistakes. In the same way some Lions fans complain about Jared Goff's play when he doesn't have a perfect and clean Pocket, Purdy showed his play is little different under pressure.
  5. Yes, Baltimore is the best team in the league. But they outclassed San Fran in all four quarters last night and made them look more than beatable. They put pressure on Purdy, sacked him twice, and had him hearing footsteps the rest of the night. He had a 42.6% QBR and threw 4 picks. Add onto that, their offensive line got banged up last night. I know our defense is our weakest link, in particular our pass rush and CB's in man coverage. But if we get the 49'ers in the playoffs with James Houston and Cede Duce back, plus a surging Iffy Melifonwu, things could look a whole lot different. Just the mere fact that we wouldn't have to play Jerry Jacobs on an island, in man coverage, ever again this season, is a plus WAR factor. One thing we do well too is stop the run. If we can get any amount of pressure on Purdy and limit his use of McCaffery (I wouldn't expect us to take him out of the game) and make Purdy beat us with his arm, then why not us. I was all scared of San Francisco after they bounced back strong from their 3 game losing streak earlier in the year and rattled off 6 straight wins, in dominating fashion. But Baltimore brought them way back down to Earth last night. I don't fear the 49'ers nearly like I did going into last night's game. Maybe Purdy and company just had a really off night or maybe Baltimore showed the playbook on how a good team can beat them, with the right pieces and circumstanes.
  6. Is that a for real stat???
  7. San Fransisco didn't look so big and bad tonight. I get that Baltimore is likely the best team in the league and he has clowned a lot of opponents this season, most especially us. But Brock Purdy and San Francisco certainly looked beatable tonight.
  8. Damn, that was sooooo good and soooo inspiring to watch. That **** has me fired up in a way I haven't ever been for this team.
  9. I still can't believe it, we won the mother ****ing NFC North!
  10. Who would have thought a Ford would be considered a good owner, but here we are. Thank your Shelia Ford.
  11. The old Lions would have melted down and broken all of our collective hearts. But this team is simply more talented, tougher, and generally, though not always, better coached. Campbell has these guys better prepared to handle late game, high pressure situations than Fontes, Schwartz, or Caldwell did.
  12. LOL ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME ON 3RD AND A HUNDRED???
  13. Nice coverage and pass breakup by Branch.
  14. I think you at least make one attempt and try to pickup the first down. No???
  15. What the hell is wrong with Ben Johnson? What kind of decision making is that to run on both 2nd and 17 and then again on 3rd and long?
  16. What kind of play call was that??? Why the hell would you run the ball there?
  17. Another delay of game on Goff. That's brutal.
  18. I can't sit around thinking of all the ways we can blow this. I know my post is premature and I know what team we're talking about as I told Randy earlier. But we just have to win this after that big turnover and holding the Vikes to only a FG.
  19. BALLGAME. WE'RE GONNA WIN THE ****ING DIVISION BABY! LET'S MOTHER ****ING GO!!!!!!!
  20. Alright, good to see Minnesota imploding late with a dumb penalty.
