Florida State should be in and I agree that Norvell has every right to blow up about this. Florida State did everything the CFP Committee asked of them, went undefeated, was 2-0 against the SEC, won their conference, and got screwed in the end.
I think there is a chance Texas ends up getting the #4 spot and Florida State the #3 spot. I'd hate for us to play Texas given how anemic our offense looked tonight. I'd much rather play Florida State.
I know the committee won't take into account how bad our offensive line looked and how bad we looked offensively overall tonight, so we'll be #1 and Washington will be #2. I do truly believe though that Washington deserves to be #1 and would beat us head-to-head given how poor our offensive line play and ability to run the ball is.
Ohio State went to a National Championship with a third string QB in Cardale Jones. If Florida State remains undefeated they belong in the playoffs. If the argument is that "Well, they'll just get slaughtered by whomever they play because of their QB" then why not apply that to Michigan too based on how pathetic this offense and offensive line has played lol. I only kid on that, but if Florida State wins I do believe they should be in.
Amen! Agree with all of this. They're going to get killed playing anyone not named Florida State if this is how they show up and play.
INTERCEPTION FLORIDA STATE!!!!!!!
Disagree with the idea that Michigan should be #1. If the CFB Playoff Committee takes any recency bias into account and how a team has looked recently than Washington deserves to be #1. This offense has been dreadful tonight. Washington looked electric and went toe-to-toe with Oregon and even came back on offense to get the win. As much as I want us to be #1, I just can't help but feel Washington should be given how good they looked against Oregon and how pathetic we've looked tonight on offense.
No Zach Zinter is a colossal problem for this line. If this offensive line can't improve or we can't scheme our way out of this problem we're going to get torched by any non‐FSU team we face in the playoffs.
155 total yards, 33 rushing yards, 122 passing yards, and 3.7 yards per play. A really concerning offensive performance thus far. Our running game is supposed to be our specialty and we're averaging less than 3 ypc. This type of offensive performance is going to get us beat by at minimum 3 scores against any non-Florida State team that we have to face in the playoffs.
No way, Washington should jump Michigan and be the #1 seed unless Michigan's offense turns it around and shows any sign of life. This offense was gifted fantastic field position on both scores.
I don't understand how we ended up with that ball, but what a gift.
Our offense still looks suspect and makes me concerned for who we play next. Even if we win tonight, Washington deserves to jump us based on how they played yesterday.
Great to see we made no adjustments coming out of the half. We did one reverse that got blown up and our offensive line has struggled just as much to run block as it did in the first half. We're in real trouble if Iowa manages to score.
