  1. I don't take any TE in the first round unless you can promise me they are Kelce or Gonzalez or Gronk 2.0 and even then, I'm skeptical. I crapped all over the pick at the time and wanted one of Brian Burns, Montez Sweat, Devin Bush, and yeah, Ed Oliver. Sure, Ed Oliver seems like a bust, but I would love to have one of Burns/Sweat/Bush on this horrid defense. Hopefully the new regime has a no TE's in the first round philosophy haha.
  2. No way does Willis get past the Broncos, Falcons, Football Team, Panthers, and Texans unless he absolutely bombs out the rest of the season and/or at the combine. It's probably too early to say this, but I think if we want Willis it's either take him #1 overall or trade back up into the top 10-11-12 to get him.
  3. I still like the idea of what Malik Willis could become,: our Josh Allen, Deshaun Watson, or Lamar Jackson. He has all the physical tools of a modern NFL QB. He's got a cannon for an arm, can make all the throws, good enough size, athleticism for days, and mobility inside and out of the pocket to create plays and extend drives. He also seems to be a good kid without any of the Dwayne Haskins or Ryan Mallet type off the field or mental health issues. He seems like the type of player who would be receptive to NFL coaching, willing to listen and grow. The things he struggles with as far as some of his mechanics, decision making and willingness to gamble a little too much can be worked on and fixed. Remember Josh Allen coming out of Wyoming. He was seen as a risky pick because of his decision making, bad habits and a completion % that was below 60% and he's turned around to be one of the leagues elite QBs. Willis has all the same physical tools Allen had with a big arm, mobility, and athleticism. I'm still tempted to take Willis #1 overall and pass on Thibodeaux.
  4. He's got Hockenson to throw to and lately he doesn't even seem to be going to him much. He's become a Checkdown Charlie and worse yet, he's not even good at the checkdown play calls.
  5. Or Colin Kapernick. But yeah. it was a pointless trade for them and it would be pointless for the Lions to try and bring someone in to push Goff at this point.
  6. I think the Jets were dumb to trade anything for the corpse of Joe Flacco. He adds no value whatsoever to a team that is going nowhere and needs to maximize their draft capital. I'm glad this regime has not panicked and looked to add another QB to the roster via a trade. The Trinity Benson trade was worthless enough, we don't need to be surrendering anymore draft picks for a player who will provide no impact whatsoever on a lost season.
  7. That's another advantage we have, a QB who limits turning the ball over. Cade might not be flashy and I do feel we need to stretch the field more than we're doing. But if Cade can protect the football and our defense can create turnovers, Thorne or otherwise, I think we can succeed this way.
  8. I have to say, I do give Harbaugh credit for the positive turnaround this year. But more than any sort of general credit given to him, the real key is that I think he has potentially made the best hire of his Michigan tenure in Mike McDonald as DC. Gone are the days of Dr. Blitz Don Brown, blitzing for the sake of it, and leaving your Corners out on an island to get torched in coverage. I have really liked watching what McDonald has done with this defense and the balance he has brought to the play calling. So kudos all around to Harbaugh for listening to his brother and hiring the guy and of course to McDonald for the solid coaching so far. In a game of two evenly matched teams, I think his play calling and the positions he puts his kids in could end up being the key to this game for Michigan.
  9. I think if they had done the Carolina deal Fields possibly would have been the guy. Sewell and Fields together would have at very least given TP no reason to complain.
  10. Pickett had two options there, the guy crossing midfield and the guy running the pattern up the sideline. I think Pickett had picked up both guys and just trusted his arm to make the deeper throw to the guy running up the sideline. I think it would have been safer and smarter to strike as the guy was crossing midfield, right as he was passing behind the ref. JT O'Sullivan (former Lions QB whose analyzing here) called it borderline dangerous in the video. I don't know, the defender jumped for the ball, which was clearly placed over his head by Pickett, and the throwing window wasn't really that tight sans the defender jumping at it. I've seen Pickett start getting compared to Joe Burrow given his rise up the boards this season, but Burrow had a completion % that was a full 10 points better than Pickett has now. Granted, Burrow had Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall Jr. to throw the ball to. Pickett has from what I've seen, maybe one possible NFL-caliber wideout, where Burrow had three first round picks.
  11. I finally sat down and watch a Pitt game Saturday night and watched some Kenny Pickett highlights. I still don't know what to make of the guy as to whether or not he is a 1st round, much less a top 10, draft prospect. PFN: Kenny Pickett Scouting Report
  12. Michigan State is the second Pete from Pete & Pete, the little brother of the show. This is it though for Harbaugh, win and look good doing it and you'll start to rebuild trust among the fan base that wanted you axed, lose and we'll just keep calling for your head. I think Michigan needs to find a way to open up this offense because I don't think they can bully ball their way through the game with running the ball down State's throat. They are going to have to find a way to attack down the field and open up the playbook a little bit. Gattis is going to have to put some wrinkles in his play calls otherwise State is going to stack the box and stop Michigan. I think they are just going to have to place confidence and trust in Cade and let him go downfield more often.
  13. Start your morning off with a bad Lions joke . . . Q: What do you call 3 straight completions by Jared Goff? A: 3rd & 2
  14. I thought Campbell and Glenn coached a solid game overall. Good coaching beeped keep them in this game. I mocked Stafford once on a post that Goff had to bean to a Super Bowl and he hadn't. Yeeeeeaaaahhhhh, can I have that one back? This guy is like playing NFL Blitz and watching the announcer yell "He got picked off" over and over again. I don't know if there is a video game glitch or just a general lack of talent that made him a turnover machine.
  15. Are we feeling more confident that they could be the Eagles given the fight we saw today against the Rams?
  16. Insert quarter, get turnover. Goff is a turnover machine.
  17. Welp, this lead won't last long. Another big play given up by the defense. I was about to post how well they've been playing after the Henderson stop.
  18. Harbaugh better not blow this. We are expecting both MSU and Michigan to be undefeated for next weeks game.
  19. The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiasie got wrapped up in this scandal too I believe.
  20. Way to go Lions on the Spielman induction, that was a classy move.
  21. Leremy Tunsil got two 1sts back in a trade, why couldn't Decker at least net us one? LT is one of the most important positions and people pay a premium for good ones. Decker is still young enough and I think good enough to warrant asking for a 1st or 1st plus.
