  1. I think they line up Arik Armstead on the left side. But I would imagine they will rotate guys on the front to get the matchup they want.
  2. I know McCaffery is the best RB in the NFL and is truly a special player. But if we can hold him under 100 and keep him out of the end zone that's going to force Purdy to have to beat us. I think we can win that type of game. Maybe none of that happens and we get routed because we are outmatched by a superior 49'ers team. That could be the case. However, I really do like to think we have a chance in this one,
  3. Will Moore wear a headset or will he be doing this Brady Hoke style?
  4. I spent 2.5 seasons trying to run Harbaugh out of town. Now I feel bummed he's leaving and not sticking around. I worry we may have just got Pete Carroll'ed and that he's leaving town because he knows the NCAA is going to swing the hammer for covid-era recruiting violations and for the spuygate situation. Thanks for the Natty though Jim, that was worth it.
  5. I don't believe the league outright fixes games to have a predetermined winner or preferential winner. I also don't generally believe they care who wins the games, though on a rare occasion they may. I do believe the league works over the Lions not on an intentional basis, out of malice. Rather they do it because we historically haven't stood up for ourselves on the field or behind the scenes it would seem. Think back to the picked up flag in Dallas or the batted ball in Seattle. If those incidents happened to a Dan Campbell coached team he'd be red in the face, screaming in the refs ear, and blowing them up for the remainder of the game. Jim Caldwell just stood their stone silent and took it, no questions asked. I also feel that Sheila and Rod, unlike her father, mother, or Tom Lewand, would be raising hell behind the scenes and privately demanding answers from the league. So because we never used to stand up for ourselves as an organization, the league and its officials just didn't take us seriously. If the league did prefer the 49'ers over us I would have to guess it would boil down to money. The 49'ers are in a much bigger metro market and rank in the top 5 in merchandise sales. They are also top 10 in revenue for the league and we are the dead last franchise in revenue. They are a top 5 franchise in overall value and we are at the bottom. Our fans also spend middle of the pack on merchandise and some of the least on concessions at a game. We're blue collar and some white collar fans, with not nearly the amount discretionary spending that the average 49'ers fan would have to spend on merchandise, tickets, concessions, etc.
  6. Trump's performance with independent voters looks abysmal. When you consider also that a sizable percentage of Haley supporters won't vote for Trump in a general that isn't good news for him politically.
  7. I'm less worried about McCaffrey because our run defense is our strength. We get killed on big plays by teams top receivers and we get beat more than we should it feels like on 3rd and long type situations. I'm not saying we'll hold him to 50 yards or less and completely take him out of the game. Though that would be nice. Holding him under 100 total yards rushing and receiving combined, and keeping him out of the end zone, would be a huge success in my eyes and won that could lead to a Lions win.
  8. Assuming Deebo plays is Sutton going to be matched up on him or on Aiyuk and will it matter?
  9. Does Warde Manuel have a strategic plan for anything? It doesn't feel like it sometimes. I hope he has the ink and contract ready to go for Moore if Harbaugh leaves town. Conversely, I hope Moore has plans for his OC and DC and that Mike Hart isn't his plan for OC. I think the university needs to spend the money and make a push to bring in big time coordinators to help support Moore, simply go with next man up.
  10. I think the job should go to Moore or Minter if Harbaugh leaves as they have earned the right to. That said, I still wouldn't be upset if my boy Luke was poached from Wisconsin or we got a guy like Eli Drinkwitz from Missouri here.
  11. I'll always remember Roy going at it with Bruce Boudreau, pounding and shaking the glass like a spoiled, angry, bratty kid. Surprised to see Patty coaching again.
  12. Instead of doing all that to kill the remaining time on the clock why not just get stopped short on the goal line, cause a review to take place, and force a 10 second runoff.
  13. Jamie Samuelson and Don Shane too. I suppose Drew Sharp too, ever the cynic that he was.
  14. Ford Field absolutely rocking. We have the best fanbase in America no doubt.
  15. I think so. If they make a Super Bowl that will leave the Browns as the only original AFL or NFL franchise to not have made a Super Bowl. Right now I'd say we're tied with the Clippers and Browns for the worst in the major four American sports leagues. Then there are franchises like the Maple Leafs and Sacramento Kings in that next tier of awful.
  16. Today, we are exercising all of our Same Old Lions demons and embarrassing moments. I know I am missing many moments here, but today we cast out SOL from this franchise and this team. In its place we have the Brand New Lions. SOL be gone, it is time for BOL! Old Man William Clay Ford Sr. buying the team the day Kennedy was assassinated. Bobby Layne being traded. Monte Clark praying the Eddie Murray kick would go in. Passing on drafting future hall of famers Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, and Darrell Green to draft a fullback. Having the owner's drinking buddy Russ Thomas as GM for nearly 30 years. Lions Head Coach Daryl Rogers asking "what's a guy have to do to get fired around here." Wayne Fontes that wasn't my cocaine. Sterling Sharpe wide open in the playoff game at the Silverdome. Wayne Fontes worried about scoring too quickly. Germaine Crowell cutting to stay in bounds to run out the clock. Bobby Ross abandoning ship. Lions lose 2000 finale at home to Chicago Bears. The best player in NFL history, Barry Sanders, retiring via a fax. Bill Ford Jr, hiring Matt Millen to run the team. Charles Rogers begging the Lions not to draft him. Marty taking the wind in overtime. Dan Orlovsky runs out of the end zone. Calvin Johnson and the process of the catch. Jim Schwartz throwing the challenge flag when he wasn't allowed to. Stephen Tulloch’s discount double check injury. Matt Flynn gets a big contract because he beats the Lions. The picked up flag in the Dallas playoff game. Aaron Rogers hail mary pass. The batted ball against Seattle. The 10-second runoff against Atlanta. Calvin Johnson retiring early. The Silverdome failing to implode. Matt Patricia getting blown out in his debut on Monday Night Football by the Jets and their rookie QB. D'Andre Swift dropping a game winning pass against the Bears. Matt Patricia saying I have one of the all time calls in NFL history after LOSING the Bears game in embarrassing fashion.
  17. All the years we've posted here clowning on the ownership, the front office, the coaching, the players on the field, the mistakes, the bad draft picks, the getting boned by officiating and doing nothing. Now we get to celebrate this team here and it feels amazing to not be bitching, complaining, laughing, and shaking our heads for once.
  18. Campbell saying it looks questionable for Jonah Jackson in the post game interview.
  19. Lions coaches have made plenty of moronic decisions that have impacted the game. About time we get one that is the opposing coach and acts in our favor.
  20. I was talking to my dad just now. He's 75. He was 17 when the first Super Bowl was played. That's incredible to think how long some fans have suffered.
  21. Is this really happening? We're going to play for the right to go to aSuper Bowl next week.
